"After reviewing and test driving all the small trucks on the market the Ford Ranger was by far the best value hands down. As fuel prices rose it was time to add a 4 cyl 5 speed to the family. Out the door the 2011 Ranger XLT Extra Cab was $8000 less than the Toyota. GM doesn't make a truck to speak of neither did Dodge. The Nissian was close but at $6000 more it was too out of the running. The Ranger is well built and ample power traveling across the country loaded down. Even with only 2 wheel drive it handled surprisingly in the snow and ice. The 30mpg highway and 24mpg city avg can't be beat. I will deffinatly purchase another when the time comes. Ford has proven themselves as a contender with the Japanese manufactures. Strongly reccomend the Ranger"

"well after going to 3 gm dealers and getting bad deals and no service i went to a ford dealer and got taken care of and a great deal. I'll put the down side to the truck 1st the open rear8.8 and no option for a selectale locker and no v-8 option is the only problem i have with the truck the 4.0 has good power and the 5 speed auto when you lay in the throttle keeps the truck in its peak powerpand and shifts smooth I like the factory hitch and hd shocks and I personaly like how they not changed the interior much over the years means parts will be easy to get down the line IF IT WORKS WHY CHANGE IT but again the truck is great but needs a v-8 and selectable locker's and bring back the fx4 option"
