"I've had my 2008 Ford TaurusX for 1 month now. We love it. I don't know why Ford stopped making this car. We wanted a wagon, which is hard to find now. This car replaced an older Taurus wagon. It's only 2" wider and 2.5" longer but boy is there more room inside. It handles really well, you think it's a smaller car. It rides great and it's very peppy. Gas mileage is in the low 20's on the highway which is what the EPA says. I think this is a great value for the money."

"This is a near perfect sized vehicle for our family. The third row seat gives us the versality we need without the bulk of a full suv or the stodgeyness of a minivan. It is simply very functional and dependable. We got the AWD and the associated gas mileage penalty. You get the taxi cab dependability of the Taurus and the niftyness of the Edge."

"My ford taurus x blazer is terrible. The suspension is not too good because it makes a lot of noises when passig on batches. I have to keep my radio on high volume to avoid listening to those noises in the botton of my car. I think it is a very low quality performance."

"We bought this car for the 3rd row and liked the look of it. The Taurus X has a lot of transmission problems starting to show up. At 90k ours went out. Never used a trailer or heavy cargo just lots of highway miles. New ford transmission is $4,300 plus install. Found a used one with install for 2k. Had back for service again and Transmission shop said they had 2 more since replacing ours. Buy the extended warrenty with Fords very limited warrenty you will spend big bucks on this car. The stearing pump is starting to go also. A mechanic says problems are known and he is already telling us what to look out for."

"We bought this car used since we needed a people mover and Ford didn't make them any longer. Too bad that Ford no longer makes them because it's really a great car. It's not loaded on room compared to today's mini vans and SUV's, but it is still quite comfortable and very easy to drive. It has great performance and handling and has proven to be very reliable so far. The only real negative would be the limited space for luggage and other stuff. We have the second row captain's chairs, so it only seats six, but that is actually better as it allows easier access to the third row."

"My wife wanted room for our kids plus their friends, but was tired of the suburban housewife minivan. After looking at much more expensive options, a friend turned us on to the Taurus X. My wife loves it. Lots of room for people, but no soccer mom stigma. Great compromise until our teens are off to college and she can move into a Mustang GT. Good power and handling. Very reliable so far (my buddy has had his for a couple years and still loves it). We are happy with our base level car, but they have list of options with more luxury. Here's an important point for this style of car-- unlike more expensive similar cars, this one has excellent visibility. Not so for other cars of this type. We are very happy."
