"This car was purchased by me in 2010. The car is a 1994 Ford Windstar and has 250,000 miles. It has been running amazingly and the only thing I replaced is the tires. Overall Windstars are great!"

"I've had my windstar for 3 years. Its been so reliable and comfortable, I am currently looking for another one because mine got rear ended by an explorer going over 45 mph. My wife, my 3 year old daughter and I were all ok except for some sore muscles, I believe this van saved us and I won't own anything but a windstar."

"Van is OK, but keep up with maintenance. A bit too heavy for good gas mileage, but overall OK After a few quircks, seems at 90K miles, all is settled in and working well. Wish for better mileage, but 15-17 in city is OK, I guess"

"Steer clear of a used Windstar. If you do the researc you will find that the transmission for this car does not fare well. I had to rebuild mine at 67,000 miles. I am now at 123,000 and I am starting to feel some vibration in the transmission again. I have read online that many Windstar owners have also had trouble with transmission. I am an easy does it driver and have never had trouble like this with any of the other Fords I have owned. You would do better to purchase a used Chrysler or Dodge minivan. If you buy a Windstart, be prepared to spend a lot of money on maintenance"

"We have spend more money in repairs than we spent on this vehicle 5 years ago and it is currently not running. Replaced transmission, brakes numerous times, rotors, alternator, fuel pump, window motors to name a few. Air and heat are not working right now and it backfires and won't start. This van is a total lemon."

"We bought our ford van 2 years ago used with 113000 miles on it. We did do some work to the tranny but no big deal. It is the best van ever. It now has 165000 and no major problems. A friend who has a 2009 dodge van says our Ford has way more power than his van. I hope to drive this van another 2 years and buy another ford van. We have taken it to Texas and Florida and I will drive it there 2 more times without any fear of failure. I really like the bench seats. We have 2 small children. One sits in the front and the other in the back. They like having the extra space to put there things."

"These are my comments after driving a LX for the past 8 yrs.On the negative side was the rust that formed on the bottom of the sliding door after only 5 yrs.,various electrical failures, poor turning radius, and constant engine knocking. However, the engine was incredibly quiet when idling, the overall ride was smooth and comfortable, and it always started right up, even in sub-zero temps. One of the most dependable vehicles I have ever driven, as it had over 186,000 miles and was still running fine when I finally got rid of it!"
