"I recently purchased a GMC Acadia. I was not set on this car but was leaning towards another suv, and tried quite a few differnt types of suv's and cars. The Acadia sold itself once i sat inside and the minute i drove it i was sold again!!!! I love the ride of the Acadia it handles as if you were driving a car. The interterior is spacious and very comfortable. For anyone looking for an SUV i would reccomend the Acadia. The gas mileage is not so bad either, if you are used to filling up and SUV it is the same. The gas does seem to go a little further."

"Let me just start by saying I love this car! We must have looked at every family sized car by every make before deciding on this and I have no regrets! A full size suv with a midsize gas rating! I love the way the second row captains chairs collapse to allow room for me to actually get to the third row to strap in a carseat. The pass through between the seats is great for my older kids...and saves on having to collapse the second row for entry and exit. Its the only thrid row three adults are actually comfortable in that Ive found. Its a very comfortable ride (roadwise), except on long trips I wish the driver seat was more comfortable (our 2007 have manual lumbar support). Our 2007 was very reasonable $$ for others comparable in its class ( up to $6000 less). If the dealer didnt tell me this was a v6 I would have thought it had a v8. Lots of get up and go! Highly recommend for a family."

"We went from a Tahoe to the Acadia and very much regret it. Usable space is same but feels so much smaller. The warning lights go off constently when nothing is wrong. Called on star and they saw nothing wrong. Had a problem a couple of weeks ago where the car was shaking uncontrollably once we go over 50 mph. On star didn't see a problem and it stopped the next day before whe got it to a shop and they saw nothing wrong. They said something could have been stuck underneath that threw the wheels out of balance, but the shaking was so bad that we could hardly steer, so I think there was more to it. About a week after the shaking incident, the accelorator stuck. I was just in a parking lot, so it wasn't a big deal, but it was scarry. I can't wait to trade this car! We will go back to the Tahoe in a second!"

"I just purchased a 2007 Acadia this past weekend in PA with around 39k miles on it and so far everything is just fine. Previously, it was a lease vehicle and, from the records, it was well taken care of (i.e., regular oil/filter changes, scheduled maintenance, etc.). I have reviewed a number of vehicles such as the Equinox, Acura MDX & RDX, Ford Escape, Ford Edge and other European SUVs/Crossovers and I'm very content thus far with this purchase. I was leaning towards a newer '09 or '10 model but the price was rather high compared to other luxury SUVs. I settled for a well cared for used model instead. I just completed a car detail (inside and out) and the vehicle is just as new and looks absolutely terrific. No regrets..."

"the ride is comfortable and we can fit all of the kids in without any problem. The only problem I have it the fan for the heat/ac seems to make an odd whirring noise. Overall, I love my car."

"I have read the negative and I am sorry for all of you with Acadia trouble. I got mine brand new in 2007 and have never thought twice about it. It is the best vehicle I have ever owned and I have had more than 20. It is a great design inside and out, remote start and backup alarm for the blind spots. I always take pristine care of my vehicles and keep them up like brand new, so this one looks and even smells new although it is 3 years old. I would recommend these to anyone with a family or to a single mother or father, as they are designed for convenience to get to the 3rd row seats and can carry quite a lot of cargo as well. Happy motoring everyone!!!!"

"Wife's car fully loaded AWD. In the shop too much! 47K on it now. Left wife stranded at least 4 times & 2 times so dead onstar wouldn't work, had sticker in window so called from cell phone. In shop over a month straight on 1 occasion. Thought problems were due to the sunroof leak, so accepted that as final fix around 30K. At 37K back in the shop, again at 40K, 44K & 46K. Intermittent DVD problems since 8K, figured certain DVD's, after warranty expired got worse. Last problem water leaking in car at side windows, fix was $110 to adjust the alignment on doors & car has never been off road! All maintenance/repairs by GM dealer. Problem before that key wouldn't come out of the ignition, chaffed wire $150. Problem before that car wouldn't start, faulty engine sensor $250, sensor not covered under power train warranty, but negotiated that a bit due to all the prior problems (cost would've been $500). Problems began as: raw fuel smell in car when started on cold mornings (fixed but don't know what fix was), then starting problems, wipers would come on w/o reason, back wiper wouldn't shut off, traction control goes on/off w/o reason, car wouldn't turn off for a few minutes even w/Key removed! This car is an awesome car & it is a great overall design, roominess, way the center seats fold up for access to rear seats, love the heads up display & on-star. If car was more reliable it would be the best mid-sized SUV. We like it so much that we have dealt with all these problems, but at this point we are planning on replacing it. Been looking, but ACADIA still has the best overall design. Honestly feel like we are downgrading comforts to get something more reliable. Dislikes - all the mechanical/electrical problems, chrome around vents (too much glare on sunny days), DVD blocks rear view mirror, when it goes into traction control mode it makes weird noises. We'd be willing to try another ACADIA if GM acted like they cared & was going to give a reasonable price off of another, but it seems in even newer model reviews they haven't fixed the problems. Driven vehicles with better handling and performance. Almost put a 1 star overall, due to the reliability, but GMC did do a very good job of the design, has more interior room than most competitors with larger vehicles. Possibly one w/o a sunroof would be a good model but given the door adjustments needed at 47K...UGGGH!"

"I loved the look of the car and the inside of it is great for 2 kids BUT it has stayed in the shop ALOT. It had problems with a sunroof leak and not cranking for months. Lots of noise with steering wheel. OVERALL I love the comfort of the car but can not say it has been the best experience with performance."
