"This truck sees mostly commuter use and moderate loads and rough roads on the weekends around the farm and shop. For this use the truck is excellent averaging 17 mpg overall. I wouldn't exceed the 9000# tow rating much since the suspension is fairly soft and reverse is so high geared with 3.73?s (4x4 Low not good maneuvering trailers, should have a 4x2 Low option). My understanding is the newer 6 speeds have fixed this problem with lower reverse gears. I have just over 20k miles on my truck and the only issue I have had is the fuel gage is slow to return to accurate after being parked on large inclines."

"I had a '97 Sierra and when it came time to upgrade I went all out for the Sierra Denali. This thing has it all. AWD all the time and the towing is awesome. Taking my boat out to the lake is easy and the breaks are all disc. Can't go wrong with this. GM is getting better. Always had my eye on this one. Was looking at a new Tundra limited but for the price, only got a 5.7 liter engine. This Sierra got 6.2 liter 403 HP. Don't get me wrong it's a lot of Money but it's well worth it and will look to keep for a long time."

"I came out of my Sierra Classic style not very convinced about the style of the new Sierra. However, it didn't even took me a day to realize how much of improvement GM reached with this truck. The seats are a lot more comfortable, the ride is excellent, the panel and the steering wheel control are much more smarter. The sound system, the handling, the fuel economy, you name it was improved. If you are thinking about coming out of the classic style, I now how much you like that one, but you wont regret it. I have a 1500 SLE1 crew with leather and some options like sunroof. I really enjoy having this truck and would recommend it to anyone. Great on towing which is what I use it for and great features you don't even expect on a truck."

"I got rid of a '05 Toyota Tacoma V6 prerunner 4 door. I was averaging about 16 mpg in the city and 19-20 in the hwy. I was not satisfied with the ride comfort (stiff ride). I bought a 1500 Sierra, crew cab, 5.3L, 2wd. What a difference in ride comfort compared to the Tacoma. 1st tank of gas I averaged about 15.5 mpg, 2nd tank was 16 mpg and after the 3rd tank, I averaged 17.1 mpg. It's getting better. I had it lowered to a 2-5 drop and the truck looks great leveled. The back end (stock) was a little too high. Obviously, I will not be towing or have a load in the bed. I test drove other full size trucks and was not completely satisfied with what the other trucks offered and that includes the silverado. I also like the exterior looks of the sierra compared to the silverado."

"We have a 2008 2500 HD 4x4 C/CAB S/BOX 6.0lt, with 4:10 gears G80 locker. We got this truck to tow our 30ft 5th wheel and use as a day driver. I looked at all the others Ford/Dodge and they just do not come close, with style comfort or value for money. This rig is has it all. I love the Driver info center and the ONSTAR, well I wish my other rig had it."

"My GMC is a 2500HD 2WD long bed ext cab, WT with appearance package, Fog Lights, Chrome grille and wheels; every towing package available, 6ltr v8 w/6 spd, and GT4 3:73 w/Eaton Posi. Let?s get the bad out of the way. The front fascia does not fit properly and has a slight gap in center of bumper, same with bed, fit is not the same at the cab from left to right; no buddy notices but me. The interior is the Work Truck has great fit as does the custom IP on the SLE/T. But the grain lets you know you are in a WT. I love this truck. I tow a 7k pound box trailer regularly and get 9-11 mpg in the western PA hills and better on the highway with an open bed and w/o a trailer aero cover. No one makes a fiberglass tonnaeu cover for the long box. The interior bucket seats hug my hips and secure my butt. The controls are easy to understand, feel and find, allowing me to maintain my view of the road. My kids fit on the back bench seat and love the view of the road. On the open road, to ATL, my Sierra got almost 20 mpg, w/open bed. The 6 spd takes a little getting use to, but decending hills, it is an absolute must. Torque; I simply out tow any comparable Dodge and that?s the closest truck to a GMC, I checked Ford, Dodge, and Toyota before I made my decision. And Dodge & Ford were making great deals. At 5k miles, no problems. The creature comforts; great CD w/iPod link, an information center, for additional mechanical updates, long driving comfortable seats and a great feeling steering wheel. I would only own a truck if it could make money. This GMC helps keep money in my pocket. Professional Grade A!"
