Free Cars.com Webinar Discusses How Dealers Can Capitalize on Projected Used-Car Sales Growth in 2009

Cars.com announced today a webinar to discuss how franchise and independent stores can optimize their business strategy and inventory mix to desk more used-car deals. The free, hour-long event, "Stimulating Profits: Used Cars Drive Sales Success in 2009," begins at noon EDT on April 9.

"In the current economic climate, car buyers increasingly find used vehicles a practical way to balance their transportation needs and budget requirements," said Dennis Galbraith, Cars.com vice president of advertising products and training. "If dealers are to survive and thrive until the recovery begins, they must stock in-demand cars at the right price point and aggressively market them. Simply having a sale on their aged inventory won't drive the results they want in this environment."

Galbraith will moderate the DealerADvantage Live session, which will include an industry roundtable discussion with automotive experts Art Spinella, president of CNW Marketing, and Paul Taylor, chief economist of NADA. Attendees will get tips on how to:

- Identify the cars in-market shoppers want and the most cost-effective sources to acquire them.
- Leverage market-based tools to set a pricing process that optimizes gross and minimizes aged inventory.
- Determine the advertising tools that drive traffic now and build long-term dealership branding.
- Engage in-market car buyers.

"More than ever, dealers must follow-up with each and every prospect and stay with shoppers until they make a purchase," Galbraith said. "Anyone raising his or her hand about a vehicle a dealer has in inventory must be treated as a serious buyer."
