Chicago—September 9, 2009—Cars.com announced today a webinar to discuss how dealers can capitalize on renewed car-buyer interest to build excitement around their inventory and boost sales. The free workshop, "Sell More Cars: Tips You Can Implement Today to Close More Deals," begins at noon EDT on Sept. 11.
"The CARS voucher program brought millions of shoppers back into market, creating significant opportunity that we've only partially tapped," said Ralph Ebersole, an automotive consultant at Cars.com. "To maintain and cash-in on that momentum, dealers must quickly engage these prospects and energize them to move forward with a purchase, even now that the program has ended."
Ebersole will moderate this month's DealerADvantage Live workshop. He will be joined by automotive retail experts David Kain, president of Kain Automotive, and Cory Mosley, principal at Mosley Training. Attendees will get advice on how to:
- Fully merchandise their inventory with listings that answer shoppers' questions and encourage them to move toward a purchase by contacting the dealership.
- Leverage email, online chat and the telephone to build rapport and set the appointment.
- Stay in communication with prospects until they're ready to buy.
"Slowdowns in our industry remind us of the importance of the fundamentals -- fully marketing our cars and aggressively following up with shoppers," Ebersole said. "Regardless of the economy, though, the dealers who outperform on basic marketing and selling skills will get the business."
