Chicago—November 6, 2009—Cars.com announced today a webinar to discuss how dealers can fully merchandise their listings online to connect with in-market shoppers and boost sales. The free workshop, "Dominate the Online Jungle: How to put the Digital Gorilla to Work for Your Store," is based on an innovative, in-depth analysis Cars.com recently completed that shows the value of simple merchandising to drive more traffic. The session begins at noon EST on Nov. 13.
"The findings quantify for the first time the bottom-line impact that effective merchandising has on internet shopping behavior," said Mike Page, Cars.com vice president of advertising products. "Online campaigns that leverage descriptive sell copy, competitive pricing, multiple pictures and video engage prospects and fuel their interest in connecting with a dealer. Properly showcasing their listings uniquely allows dealers to demonstrate their inventory and promote the value of buying from their store."
Page will moderate this month's DealerADvantage Live workshop. He will be joined by Steve Stauning, founder of pladoogle, and Joe Webb, president of DealerKnows.
Attendees will get advice on:
- New data from online car shoppers that shows just how important it is to merchandise online.
- How to overcome merchandising obstacles.
- Online photos, pricing and sell copy processes that will get their inventory noticed.
"While a giant inflatable gorilla on the lot may get their dealership noticed in the offline world, dealers need to find a digital gorilla to help them compete online, where their closest competitor is just one listing away," Page said. "In the online jungle, it is the simplest of merchandising strategies that can differentiate their stores from competitors and help them win market share."
