Cars.com, one of the nation's leading resources for buying and selling a car, is offering its users the opportunity to name their pick for car of the year by voting for one of ten finalists in the site's first annual Shoppers' Choice Awards. Finalists for the Cars.com Shoppers' Choice Award stand above all others in the hearts and minds of Cars.com shoppers, receiving the most searches, inquiries to dealers and the highest consumer ratings and reviews.
"While price and expert reviews are certainly important factors for consideration, more than 70 percent of all car buyers rank 'current owner opinion' as their top influence when purchasing a car," said Mitch Golub, president of Cars.com. "We have one of the largest searchable collections of reviews written by actual vehicle owners, and the annual Shoppers Choice Award is our way to reward automotive brands that our customers cite as their favorites."
Ten vehicles have been named finalists for 2010 (in alphabetical order):
Starting October 15 and continuing through November 15, visitors to Cars.com's Facebook page can vote for their pick for car of the year. The winning vehicle will be announced on November 18, 2010 at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
"For decades, automotive experts have named their choice for car of the year based on a number of factors including styling, price, innovation and reliability," said Patrick Olsen, editor-in-chief of Cars.com. "This is the first time our shoppers and owners will get to move up to the driver's seat and make their voices heard."
