Betting that shoppers still love their baby-SUVs, luxury automakers are cracking the compact-crossover segment wide open. This year also sees a continuing shuffle among high-end luxury sedans. Like BMW's recently introduced X6 crossover, the new Acura ZDX is a coupe-like utility vehicle that's as much about style as it is about functionality.

Redesigned for the first time since the 2004 model year, the XJ gains a lot of cues from Jaguar's new XF sedan. Like its predecessor, the new XJ sports lightweight aluminum construction and normally aspirated or supercharged V-8 engines — albeit larger, more-powerful ones than before.

Lexus has refined — rather than radically altered — its RX 350 luxury crossover for 2010. That seems a sensible thing to do, as the RX is one of the most popular models in its class. An RX 450h hybrid version is also offered.
