Escort has been Ford's best-selling small car since 1981, but the company expects the new Focus to take over that role. Escort continues as a four-door sedan and sporty ZX2 coupe. The station wagon is gone, and the sedan now comes in a single price level. Ford has not said how long it will continue offering the Escort alongside the Focus, which was designed in Europe and will be sold worldwide.
