Vehicle Overview
The Ford Edge is a five-seat midsize crossover. The Edge is available in SE, SEL, Limited and Sport trim levels. The five-seat Edge competes with the Nissan Murano, Mazda CX-7 and Mitsubishi Outlander.

New for 2010
Ford tweaked the aerodynamics and drivetrain of all Edge models and says they get slightly better mileage than before.

Exterior
The Edge looks like a bulky wagon. It carries Ford's three-blade chrome grille and has clear-lens taillamps. Sport models include an eight-piece body kit (it's the only version with a body-colored front air dam and lower sills), smoked taillights and headlamps, and optional 22-inch rims.
  • Available 17-, 18-, 20- and 22-inch wheels
  • Standard dual chrome exhaust
  • Standard power mirrors (heated on Limited)
  • Standard remote keyless entry
  • Available fog lamps
  • Optional automatic headlamps
  • Optional power liftgate
  • Optional SecuriCode illuminated driver's door entry keypad
  • Optional Vista Roof two-panel sunroof
Interior
The Edge provides seating for five, and its car-based design means it's easy to get in and out of without climbing. The instrument panel features white-faced gauges, and there are available metal accents for the dashboard. The 60/40-split rear seats fold forward easily thanks to spring-loaded backrests and, optionally, a power button in the rear of the cargo area that releases them remotely. Buyers can add an optional fold-flat front passenger seat. With the rear seats and front passenger seat folded, the Edge can carry 8-foot-long items like lumber or a rolled-up carpet.
  • Available cloth, leather and leather/suede upholstery
  • Standard power locks and windows
  • Standard cruise control
  • Optional dual-zone automatic climate control (optional on Sport, standard on Limited)
  • Optional Ford Sync
  • Optional voice-activated navigation system
  • Optional dual-screen DVD entertainment system with screens integrated into headrests
Under the Hood
The Edge can tow up to 3,500 pounds when properly equipped. Ford says it tweaked the powertrain and aerodynamics to provide slightly better fuel economy for 2010.
  • Standard 265-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 with 250 pounds-feet of torque
  • Standard six-speed automatic transmission
  • Available front- or all-wheel drive
  • Optional sport-tuned suspension
Safety
The Edge's crashworthiness is top-notch, having earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's Top Safety Pick award.

  • Standard electronic stability system with rollover mitigation
  • Standard four-wheel-disc antilock brakes with traction control
  • Standard anti-theft key immobilizes engine in case of ignition tampering
