Nissan's Maxima returns for 2010. The Maxima is offered in two trim levels, 3.5 S and 3.5 SV, both of which have a 290-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6 engine. As Nissan's flagship sedan, the Maxima competes with cars like the Toyota Avalon and Ford Taurus. New for 2010 There are no significant changes for 2010. Exterior Boomerang-shaped headlights and a wide grille sit low on the Maxima's front end, and the taillights are also low on the tail. There are few exterior changes because the Maxima was recently redesigned, but they include new finishes on the wheels and two new exterior colors.
The Maxima's cabin could probably get away with an Infiniti badge. It draws elements from Infiniti's G and M sedans, while the wraparound dash looks much like the one in the Altima. All told, it easily rivals the cabin in a Buick Lucerne, another upscale player in this group.
The Maxima's 3.5-liter V-6 makes an estimated 290 hp and 261 pounds-feet of torque. A continuously variable automatic transmission is standard.
