Hybrids face more scrutiny than most cars, especially when potential buyers are concerned about whether their gas savings will justify the extra money they'll have to pay. New hybrid models such as the Ford Fusion Hybrid and Lexus RX 450h unveiled at the Los Angeles auto show will have to contend with the slowing car market and gas prices that have dropped below $2 a gallon. Our editors deliver their verdicts on which new vehicles warrant a closer look as you scour the show floor before or after Thanksgiving dinner. Make sure you mark your map and don't miss the winners. Heck, even the losers are worth checking out, if only to see them for yourself. Two iconic American muscle cars are on hand at the Los Angeles auto show: the long-awaited 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, which can be preordered now and will hit dealerships next spring, and the redesigned 2010 Ford Mustang, which debuted at the show. So how do these two sports cars measure up to each other? When Forbes magazine named its 10 best driving roads in America two years ago, six of them traversed California. The Golden State is to car buffs what Kentucky is to bourbon fans, so it's no surprise that Los Angeles now inaugurates the U.S. auto-show circuit every November.
