Jeep Gladiator

The Jeep Gladiator is a muscular, no-nonsense pickup truck concept.

In a contest with a lion, the turbo-diesel-powered Gladiator, with 163 horsepower and 295 pounds-feet of torque, likely would prevail.

There's a six-speed-manual transmission attached to the 2.8-liter engine. The Gladiator's extended-cab pickup design offers the option — via midgate adjustments — of extending the pickup bed a foot to a total length of 6.8 feet. With the tailgate down, total bed length measures nearly 9 feet. (Enough room for a lion or two.)

A rear-hinged second door on the passenger side provides access to the backseat area. An outside-mounted spare is fastened behind the driver's door. Jeep has added special covered storage areas

The Gladiator has a canvas roof, removable doors and a fold-down windshield. It rides on 18-inch wheels.
