2003 Hyundai Accent

Hyundai Accent
Hyundai's smallest, least costly model gets a major face-lift for 2003. These changes include reworked styling in the hood, fenders, headlights, fascias and taillights. The entry-level L model gets the 105-horsepower, 1.6-liter dual-overhead-cam four-cylinder engine that had previously been limited to GS and GL editions. A 92-hp, 1.5-liter engine was used before. Last redesigned for the 2000 model year, the front-wheel-drive Accent is still available as a three-door hatchback or a four-door sedan.

2003 Hyundai Elantra

Hyundai Elantra
Hyundai's most popular model slots between the subcompact Accent and the midsize Sonata in both size and price. An Elantra GT five-door hatchback joined the regular four-door GLS sedan in 2002. For the 2003 model year, a four-door GT sedan with a conventional trunk joins the hatchback in Hyundai's sporty Elantra GT series. The Elantra earned new styling and larger dimensions for the 2001 model year.

2003 Hyundai Sonata

Only minor modifications are evident on Hyundai's midsize front-wheel-drive sedan, which was redesigned for the 1999 model year and then reworked for 2002. The current Sonata is related to the Kia Optima, which reached the U.S. market for 2001. The Sonata comes in base, GLS and LX trim levels.

Hyundai XG350
A larger V-6 engine went into Hyundai's upscale sedan for 2002, changing the model designation from XG300 to XG350. For the 2003 model year, the XG350 is a carryover and modifications are minimal.

Hyundai first entered the sport-coupe market in 1997 with the first-generation Tiburon, which joined the South Korean company's line of value-priced sedans. A second-generation edition emerged for the 2000 model year.

Hyundai Santa Fe
For its third year on the market, Hyundai's sport utility vehicle gets several enhancements. Standard side-impact airbags are one of those significant changes. A Monsoon sound system with a six-CD changer joins the options list, and a HomeLink remote control unit is built into the sun visor and console.
