Consumer Reviews
"Had all I desired outside of low end speed. Ended up w/ Kia Forte Coupe. Needed some kick to get me on freeway. Nice styling and unbeatable reliability. We'll see how the Kia compares my Acura."

"A great car. Good economy, about 35 mpg. Rides and drives good. The interior has adequate room and the controls are easily seen and reached. The 5 speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly and the engine has plenty of power. The pass thru back seats give extra trunk space if needed. Then there is the legendary Civic reliability. My last Civic had over 250,000 miles and still ran great."

"We watched the internet listings for this and similar vehicles for quite some time. I lost a company car and so we needed an additional vehicle. At the same time, we wanted a car we were happy and proud to drive that wouldn't break the bank; some rules were 1)used, 2) great gas mileage, 3)dependable and 4) having decent looks and comfort. I coerced my wife to go to a large dealership to actually see a car; we spotted a used, but "like new" Civic and were instantly attracted to it, drove it and then bought it on the spot. Honda certified the car and the dealer added a lifetime mototr/powertrain warranty. LOVE this car, fun to drive and 36 mpg. This thing is bulletproof. Ray"

"I contacted the dealer and arranged to go see this car. When I got there, this car and 4 of 5 others I identified were not available. Buyer beware - BAIT & SWITCH."

"A great car that is dependable, own for a long time, great features and great for the $! Problem is a boring look and there are 5 of the same car in every parking lot."

"I always wondered why people say Honda's are good and reliable but now that I have one I wished people would just stop hyping everything up. I have the Honda EX-L and regret buying one. Bought it used with 50k miles. The dash is ridiculous long and the view in any direction is horrible. The seats make my back and neck hurt after about half an hour of driving and the inside noise is pretty loud. Power is pathetic and brakes pretty rough. I drive like and old lady with this car but the transmission is already starting to slip gears. This is my first Honda and will probably be my last. Had two Acura TL's before this and also had many problems while the car was fairly young. I'm sticking with Toyota's from now on. I loved my Rav4 and was stupid for trading it in for this garbage."

"This is such a great car in many ways, from the sporty coupe exterior to the inside panal and navigation system. Not to mention I can receive and make hands free phone calls."

"Having had many compact cars before it, this one has to be the most disappointing of them all. Going from a 2006 Rav4 to the 2009 civic was one of the worse decisions I'd decided to make. Pros -Sleek design. -Barely saves money on gas compared to my prior 2006 Rav4 which had a V6 engine and 270 hp. -Ipod port in arm rest compartment. Cons -Crammed interior. About 1/3 of the interior is the dash which sticks out about 2 feet from the window and is pretty bulky. I'm only 5'8 and my head almost reaches the roof of the car. My knees are constantly rubbing on the dash. Very little leg room for adults sitting in the back seat. -The hood and window is very sloped which makes it impossible to see the hood of the car. Can't see the trunk either. The sloped windows also distorts or blurs view when dirty, foggy, sunny, etc. Reliability -As of now my civic has a little over 50k miles on it and the transmission is starting to slip. It's an automatic transmission and when Accelerating the first gear is slipping hard. The second doesn't slip as bad as first gear. The third gear doesn't slip as bad as second gear. When Decelerating the car jerks pretty hard going down the gears. Especially when close to a complete stop. I don't drive crazy or ever smash the brakes. I speed up smoothly and go down smoothly. The main reason I went for this car was because I had a 2000 civic before and liked how easy it was to drive, saved money on gas and never gave me any problems. Can't say the same for the civic I have now."

"This car has so many assets and buttons to them I haven't discovered all of them yet; but in the meantime, Honda has delivered another very comfortable and reliable ride."
