"I was convinced I wanted a Toyota Highlander Limited and when I couldn't negotiate the trade-in I wanted decided on a whim to take a look at the honda pilot. I am glad I did! The pilot swats more people more comfortably. I love the fuel efficient monitoring system- I've actually received about 26 mpg on the freeway! This car is much roomier than the Highlander and really does seat 8!"

"Bought new, traded 2010 Odessy. Mileage averaging 20.2 so far. Drive train is very smooth, but could use more power. For vehicle size, a 275-300hp and 6 spee d trans would be good. Very good road handling, precise steering, low wind noise, radio and entertainment system liked by all. The interior is a sea of gray and black, and the dash looks very plain. Honda should consider adding some wood trim to help this, and loose some of the lower quality hard plastics. The dealer service is great, and I would buy the Pilot again."

"The Honda Pilot drives like a dream and is extremely comfortable with lots of room for 8 adult passengers. Good gas mileage, too. Great value for money, and a great blend of comfort, practicality and versatility."

"This is 3rd Honda vehicle for me. I wanted something different from my current van. The pilot drives very smooth and solid. The drive train is quiet, with seamless shifts. The Pilot has a gas milage screen (EXL-W RES) which helps monitor real time fuel usage. The interior (gray and black) is sea of dull color. There are aftermarket wood trim avaible. Interior room is great, 3rd row passengers should be kids though. Climate contols are easy to use, and system works well. Good leg room in front and middle rows. The cars seems well built, with very good paint, and finish details. My wife wants a cargo net, as groceries slide to the rear when unrestrained. I have not needed the all wheel drive yet. The car holds the road well, and feels confident. Hondas hold their value very well, and in my opinion, return more at trade time."

Safest Car for a Family

"This my second Honda Pilot, and my 4th Honda. I have been very happy with all of them, 2000 Accord, 2004 Honda Pilot, 2007 Honda Cr-V, and this 2012 Honda Pilot. I have the EX-L model, and it is loaded with features that I love, I loved my 04 Pilot, but this one drives even better, and it is quit. The best part of this Pilot though I found out on the Saturday before Labor Day, I was towing a pop-up camper with my Pilot, and we had just merged on to the Highway when the caper started to sway because it was really windy, a tractor trailer passed, and the Pilot stared to fishtail, but the VSA helped us avoid a rollover, but we slid sideways and hit a guard rail head on at 45 MPH. The Pilot did is job, and my family walked away from the accident without any injuries, not even a cut. The police officer said if we hadn't been driving a car with the VSA system we would have rolled over. The front end looked like a mess, but I camper was ok. If it had not been for that 2012 Pilot and its VSA system I don't think we would be alive. If you need a car that can protect your family in the real world, the Pilot is the answer. I now have the exact same Pilot, same color and trim, and I wouldn't trade it for the world."

"This is the second Pilot I have owned and is even better than my previous. Seating is so comfortable and cabin is more spacious. I have grown children and that is the reason that I bought a pilot to begin with. We like to attend functions together and can travel together in the same vehicle, comfortably. I really love the back hatch door that opens with the touch of a button--it is great when my hands are full--even our dog loves the door opening "just for him." The car maneuvers very well and eventhough it has all that room inside, fits into parking very well. I am a true Pilot person."

2012 Pilot EX is great

"We purchased our 2012 pilot about a month ago to replace our sedan. We have two children, both in car seats, and one 110lb akita. We usually travel to see family 1 or 2 weekends per month on a 600 mi round trip. We used to take the 2006 chevy tahoe before getting the pilot, but the tahoe gets 15-17 mpg and has over 100K miles, so we needed an alternative. The interior set-up is great and 2 adults, 2 car seats, the dog, and our luggage fit comfortably! We actually love the more rugged boxy exterior styling. Some SUVs look for like Minivans that SUVs. We chose the pilot over the traverse and acadia (this is our first honda). The pilot mechanisms (seat folding and sliding) all seemed to work more easily than the GM vehicles. Also the pilot has a locking differential and slightly higher ground clearance and I do have to go off road now and then. Driving the pilot you can feel a little underpowered every once in a while, but for the purpose of this vehicle I would not want more power in lieu of better gas mileage. The honda pilot would be the perfect SUV if is was 2"-4" longer, had slightly more power (while maintaining gas mileage). I believe extra length would take the interior passenger and cargo space from good to great and a longer wheel base would take the highway ride to the next level. Our family is very happy with the honda pilot."
