The best car ever no lie!!

by 89 Prelude SI Owner from Houston, TX | August 31, 2012

first off hats off to honda for making this beautiful car. I brought my prelude in feb of this year it only had 143xxx miles on it all original except the paint job. from the second i saw i instantly wanted it. even since i was a kid i wanted one and the second i started it up i knew i had a gold mine lol but its true it runs, handles, drives and fell great. i fell in love wit it asap. and since i had it the only ting tha went wrong with it was the timing belt and the alternator. i kept up with the oil changes and all. but its very reliable and very easy to fix so i consider this car to anyone whos looking for a good car this is the one point blank.

First Car I Bought

by Honda Faithful from | May 20, 2012

This is the first car that I've bought for myself (I was previously given a Jeep Wrangler), and I can't be more satisfied with my purchase. I bought my Prelude with ~170,000 miles on it and I have now driven it between Colorado and Indiana twice (between school and home), and it has been a champ. It's great on gas, it's fun to drive, it's got some good kick, it's 4ws is ridiculously fun to use. The only reason I gave it a 3 on comfort is because it's difficult to fit anyone in the back seats because it's so small back there, and I'm 6'4" so I don't have a lot of head space either. But the car is still amazing for me, and I love it!! If you don't have one then you're missing out.

My very first car

by Lifetime Honda Owner from Springfield, MO | November 28, 2011

There's very little bad to be said about the Honda Prelude. This was one of the best well built cars of all time. With its stylish sexy looks and comfortable interior makes the Honda Prelude the best car for the money. I had my Prelude for 9 years and never had one single problem with it and I bought it used. Maintenance is cheap and parts are readily available even more so then some american cars. I give the Honda Prelude a double thumbs up.

First car I ever owned

by rawpower from Ocala, FL | July 24, 2010

Great first car. Easy to work on. Very reliable. Decent power. Great handling. Not bad in the comfort department. Highly recommend for a first time driver. But at the same time highly recommend for an advanced driver. the 89 prelude has plenty of aftermarket parts to make this car ever more fun than it already is.

The 1988 Honda Prelude Si Is To Die For

by 1988 Prelude Lover from Elkins Park, PA | March 27, 2010

As second owner: This is the only car I ever want to own again. I was given this car when it was 9 years old in 1997. There is nothing like it. I've owned and driven lots of cars before and since this one. Believe me nothing new compares. It's powerful, great resume cruise, great stereo sound, AM/FM radio & cassette, jazzy look with hidden headlights, cool electric moon roof, defogger, inside levers to gas, hood & trunk doors, roomy trunk, hidden spare, pwr mirrors, pwer windows, pwr steering handles like a dream and gives the best ride you ever had, fits me like a glove and....what can I say, it's me! The heavy hug on the road makes me feel secure in windy weather. Never had any problem in the snow or ice. In 2013 it will be a classic! I drove from Indiana to Pasadena. When I came out of a supermarket, there was a young man standing by my car admiring it. "How much you want for it?" he asked. My reply, "It's priceless."

Handling Ahead Of Its Time

by Needy4Speed from St. Paul, MN | October 20, 2006

The 3rd generation Prelude Si is well ahead of its time. A sharp exterior design, practical interior component placement, and superb handling characteristic make this Honda a fun and fairly reliable car to drive. A scale might make this car look slightly overweight but you'd never notice it thanks to all the low end torque the B20A5 engine produces. I strongly disagree with the Chicago Tribune review regarding the speedometer reading "fiction". I have personally achieved 132mph in two of these beauties. I admitt that reaching 50mph is easy but if you plan on exceeding 100, you better have a long stretch of road. The engine itself is a strong runner and subject to very few repairs. A few simple bolt-ons (exhaust & cold air intake) and you will see a significant increase in performance. Unfortunately, the body easily falls victim to rust which can even make the Prelude look unattractive. All in all, this car is amazing.......considering it was produced in the late 80's and I'm writing this in 2006!
