"I'have had my Elantra for only a few months, but it's been a long time since I've been so thrilled with a car. I actually look forward to running errands"

"My previous car was a total loss in an accident. Of course, I didn't want an outlandish car note. With gas prices rising, the Elantra was just what the doctor ordered. It's heavy enough for constant highway travel, burns little gas, easy on the pocketbook. I'm 5'8" and my passenger is 6'1". We both fit comfortably even with the booster seat in the rear for a 5 year old. I wish it had a little more trunk space."

"I purchased this car because everyone says it has a great warranty. But when your in it it really feels like a cheap car. When I am driving it sounds like I am in an airplane. Everything is so loud. I feel there are alot of blind spot because the front seat is so low and the rear seats and head rest seem higher so it blockes the view."

GMP IS BETTER THAN MY KIA SEDONA, BUT THE NEW ELANTRA 2011 IS BETTER G AS MILES. INTERIOR IS GREAT, BUT PLASTIC,AND CHEAP METAL,BUT ITS OK PAINT IS BAD,REALLY EASY TO SCRASH. SEAT FEEL GOOD,VERY CONFORTABLE, BETTER THAN KIA SEDONA,MUCH BETTER."

"I bought the 2010 Elantra SE for the Electronic stability control which is provided for by 4 wheel disk brakes and the great gas mileage. The 2010 GLS has two rear wheel drum brakes. I would have bought the the 2011 model except it has no spare tire which is ridiculous. However, Hyundai, in direct competition with Mazda, wanted to provide a "Sports Car experience" with the SE. In order to do this, they tightened the suspension so much that there seems to be no suspension. Driving over road imperfections seems to cause a feeling a motion sickness similar to sea sickness. On smooth roads, the car is a gem. If you are a hot rodder, you will love the SE. If you are coming from a larger vehicle where they actually have suspension, the SE may not be your best choice."

"The 2010 Elantra has very low mileage at this time. No mechanical concerns so far, although none would be expected of any vehicle with this mileage. I was very satisfied with the purchase price and am very satisfied with the gas mileage. Although not in the '40 mpg' club, the overall gas mileage I have been getting in mixed city & highway is around 32 mpg. The car does not have all the many features that a more expensive car has, but there are also far fewer things that can go wrong with it because of that. I would definitely recommend this vehicle as one to consider for someone who wants to buy good transportation at a good price."

"I just bought my black Elantra SE used with 11,000 miles in Chicago and drove it to NY, MA, and RI and back to Chicago within the last week. Here are my impressions: With 4 people and 4 suitcases, gas mileage was 30.9 MPG for mostly interstate highway driving at 70-75 MPH. The car did not have trouble merging onto the highway even with all the weight in the car. Likes: Love the fabric on seats. The seats seem a tad longer than my Ford Fusion so after 8 hours of driving, my legs feel fine. In my Fusion, my legs seem to hurt after 6 hours of driving due to the short nature of the seat. Love the cup holder in the driver's door Love the interior backlit color for the clock and instrument panel Love the satellite radio and USB hookup Road noise was minimal but you definitely hear the tires when pavement changes. Steering wheel radio volume and station controls are worth it. Steering wheel cruise control is good as well. Variable intermittent wipers are very nice Keys do not contain any computer chips so you pay $2 and get a second one made unlike the Fusion which is $100 to get a second one made. Mine has a closed cover compartment on top of the dashboard to hide a gps in when its not in use Trunk space was able to hold 4 large suitcases and a sleeping bag Seats can be manually raised which my wife loves. Dislikes SE has a sport suspension which means you will feel every bump bigger than a pencil Bumpy roads were tough to take throughout the trip. You really need to drive on bumpy roads in your test drive to understand this. The GLS has a normal suspension which is more to what I am used to but I wanted all the other features the SE provides. No rear windshield wiper on mine. At fast speeds, this is not an issue but in the city, it is. Engine seems to rev very low at 35-40 miles per hour. I wish it had the ability to manually shift like the Sonota does for this very occasion. No car mats - I ended up buying black ones at target that match very well Only driver side has the single door lock for the manual key. I bought this for a commuter car and am happy with it. I regret not getting the heated seats and the heated mirrors."

"Love the interior design. Makes you feel that you have purchased a much more expensive car. Nice extra compartments. Great radio and sound system. Drawbacks are the surprisingly poor fuel economy, and the automatic transmission. The best I have been able to do is about 28MPG combination highway and city. The transmission inexplicably upshifts and the engine lugs. Conversely, when accelerating, it takes forever to reach the next gear and my passengers have asked if I had left it in 3rd gear instead of Drive. If I had a choice, I would spend my money on a Hyundai Accent with manual transmission. You would get similar interior design, better transmission and gas mileage, and pay quite a bit less."
