Consumer Reviews
"The Elantra is a good value for the money. Overall gas mileage after about 3,000 miles is 32mpg, we drive mostly highway with bad traffic. Comfortable seating and user friendly interior. Great commuter car. Best: MPG, looks, and value for the dollar Worst: no spare tire, no lock on trunk, slow rear defroster"

"I bought this car for my self and my young (small) family. It gets great gas mileage, drives nicely, and I feel as though my family is protected in the event of an accident. I am a big guy, 6'3" 220lbs and do not have a problem fitting in the front. The only fit problem I have is with the headroom in the backseat. The trunk is very roomy for such a small car. I sacrificed power for fuel efficiency and do not regret it, especially on the many road trips we've taken since purchasing the Elantra 7700 miles ago."

"we bought the elantra with high expectations. and the result was pretty good. its powered by a 1.8 4 cylinder engine, and it does the job but i feel the power could be better. the ride on most cars in this class can be very hard, but the elantra is just worse the suspension is very hard and i feel like im going to loose control overy every large bump. it has an eco button but this makes the car very underpowerd so i would reconmend turining it off. but im not going to lie without the button i still reached an average mpg of 32. if there was a upside to th elantra it is the exterior and interior they are nicly crafted and all the controls are straight forward. and reliability is very good we really havent had much problem with it. overall the elantra is a good car but i wish it could be just a little bit better."

"I have been driving the Hyundia Elantra sedan now for three months. I must say that I am impressed. Solid structure, smooth ride, quiet interior, and for having just a 4-cylinder, decent power. It's no race car by any means, and yes, going up mountain grades, has the car gear hunting. But, without the snap you neck kick down into the next lower gear. With the six speed, it's a gentle kick. Need more power, another gentle kick. Fantastic. The best part is that it actually holds its speed on all but the steepest of grades. Interior is nicely appointed with a plethera of options. Trunk may be the surprise of the day. 2 adults, 1-5 year old, and enough luggage to last us a week in Florida, including golf clubs and bag. It all fit in the trunk, WOW. The exterior in my opinion is a love it or hate it type of look. To me? Sharp. And to everyone that I run into when I am driving it? They seem to really like it as well. I have only driven it for a few months, but I am becoming a fan."

"The Elentra is a very good value. It is stylish, comfortable and drives very smoothly. It turns extremely easily, which makes parking it tight spots a breeze."

"We purchased the 2012 Silver Hyundai Elantra Limited and are very satisfied with the purchase. The features (heated seats, sunroof, navigation, key fob, etc) are great and you cannot get as much for the price elsewhere. My particular favorite is the ability to leave your key in your purse even to open the doors with a touch of a button on the outside. The car is very stylish and has pep. We considered the Honda Civic, but ultimately decided on the Elantra considering all the options, feel, and very similar gas mileage. If there is a down side, maybe it is that in order to get the great gas mileage you cannot drive like a speed racer. The car still has get up, but you will loose much mileage by slamming on the gas versus more consistent gas use."

"Just put 2,000 miles on my new Elantra and still love it. The car rides nice, handles well and is great on gas. Bought the limited model, loaded with tons of options. I use the Eco mode primarily on the engine for the best gas mileage, it's sometimes sluggish from the hole shot, but overall the car has lots of power."

"I purchased the Limited version of the Elantra. It is so worth the extra money. The features of the Limited bring it up to a C class Mercedes for $15,000 less. I have yet to see the 40 mpg advertised, but I only have 900 miles on it. Seem to be averaging 32 mpg which is a little disappointing at this stage."

"The Sonata's lil brother sets the benchmark in the segment. No other vehicle in the small car segment looks as nice as the Elantra. Honda Civic-looks like a 2002-06 Camry-same tail lights. Mazda 3- Heath Ledger's Joker's Grin from the Batman movie is on the front of every 3. Loved the movie though! Toyota Corolla- bland as Vanilla ice cream. Chevy Cruze/Ford Focus: Electrical problems/bad automatic transmission. Volkswagen Jetta TDI-Maintenance cost of a German vehicle. The Elantra gives you a nonsense 148 HP engine with 29city/40hwy for each gallon of regular gas. Its 6 speed transmission is built in house - less problems. Its starting price is less than the competion. My favorite feature of the car aside from 40 mpg/hwy, are the 4 wheels DISC brakes. It'll stop the car on a dime. 2011's Consumer's magazine top pick, and 2012 North American Car of the year. With the longest standard warranty 5years/60000 miles, the Elantra leaves everyone in the dust!"
