"We traded in our Ford Escape last month for a 2013 Elantra. Price was only $19.5K, so we expected some shortcomings, but have been overall pleased with it! Pros: While it is a small car, it is roomy for two upfront. It is styli hams has a lot of standard safety features. Mileage has been great: we saw 37 mph on the highway on a recent trip, and have been getting around 30 mph in the small city we live in (using the economy mode). The Elantra is very agile making parking a breeze. Trunk is roomy and the cargo net is really handy to keep groceries in place. Cons. Our biggest complaint with the Elantra is the road & wind noise that starts around 60 mph ? it sounds like a window has been cracked open a little. Acceleration is nothing great. The ride is a bit firm when hitting bumps, but this is not unusual for a light-weight vehicle. Although most car manufacturers are not putting spare tires & jacks in their lower-end cars, we still don?t like it. Things to get used to: the large sloping windshield creates a lot of heat in the desert, so we?ve been using the AC on sunny days when the outside temp was in the low 60s. The width and location of the windshield frame can partially obstruct the driver?s view so you have to be extra vigilant. Noteworthy: the five year or 60,000 mile warranty is not bumper to bumper ? it is a limited warranty. For example the audio system and paint is only covered for 3 years/36,000 miles."

"The last new car I bought was a Hyundai Accent. It was a well built (with a very few minor exceptions) car that delivered 175K miles trouble-free. Having just received a raise at work and wanting something that looked a little snappier, I thought about the same maker's line of products. Two friends drive Elantras, both 2012 and one of them gave me a ride once. I was impressed with the look and feel of this vehicle. When I decided to buy one, I shopped for the best price and when I took delivery, the salesman kept showing me features that I hadn't dreamed of having. I was after an economy car, afterall. But Sattelite radio and bluetooth, traction control, ABS,more airbags than I believed possible and even tire pressure warnings blew me away! The car is comfortable, responsive, beautifully styled and a pure pleasure to own. The only drawback is the name is kinda stupid, psuedo elegant, but I'm transcending that flaw. Call me totally satisfied."

"I have 2 off-road cars and I decided to have a commuter car. I chose this Elantra limited cause it's cheap, well equiped and luxurios ( yes, yes I know those never come together). The car is also well-reveued across the internet with straight 5's from users and experts But there's the problem it's to luxurios side. There's an elictrical problem and the car keeps rebooting while driving at highway speed (60-70 mph) On the cheap side - dealer is no help."

"Best looking car on the market. I gave it a 5 for reliability, so this should be taken lightly, since I have only owned and used this car for three weeks. So far no problems, but I have only driven about 900 miles."

Mismatched paint

"Bought a brand new Elantra was loving it. I mean who wouldn't. You get heated seats bluetooth capability, radio and phone controls on the steering wheel, heated outside mirrors, the list goes on. The honeymoon phase has come to an end. I noticed that the paint on the rear bumper did not match the rest of the car. It looks horrible. I am currently arguing with hyundai over it. Now I can't help but inspect every vehicle for mismatched paint since Hyundai has tried to convince me that every type of car, not just Hyundai has mismatched paint. I personally dont buy that. Since this has happened I find myself inspecting the paint job of other vehicles whether they are Hyundais or not. I have seen a few more elantras especially the silver ones with a grossly noticeable mismatch between the cars bumper and the body. So buyer be ware. Carefully inspect the car when you pick it out and after they wash it up and put it in the car bay on your way out the door."

"I'm replacing a 2001 Elantra. The 2013 Elantra is beautifully designed. Truly, I feel I have recieved more car than I paid for. I'm returning for my second Elantra, not much more can be said. I'm sold on Hyundai! The reliability and warranty gives the buyer peace of mind. Added to that Tom Ahl's Lima, Ohio has the best service department staff I've ever dealt with. My hats off to Adam and Marlon. The sales staff made the purchase process very easy, I feel like I've made new friends. Adam Mancinotti was very pleasurable to work with as well as honest. Adam has the customers best interest in mind at all times. Ted King is of like kind to Mr. Mancinotti. My humble opinion is, you will not go wrong with Hyundai and Tom Ahl's. Thanks Tom you're great! Thanks Hyundai!"

"We purchased this car because we drive 38 miles on way to work and 38 miles back and wanted something with very good gas mileage. Well the gas mileage has not even been close to what they say. You hear a ton of road noise in the car when driving. It does not handle well in the snow. We traded ours in for a Sonata, which I love."

"Like my title says, I hate cars. Maybe because I'm a single female who doesn't know much about cars. After my experience at Keyes Hyundai in Van Nuys, as a team they have proved me wrong and changed my mind about cars. I wasn't up-to-date on the new technology involved as well as leasing, financing, etc. Richard Chan, the internet manager, is thee most helpful person I have ever met. He was patient and kind in updating me and explaining every question I had asked. I'm in love with my new Elantra, and he made sure I was in love, not just satisfied. Best car dealership I have encountered and Richard is the best internet sales manager, keep it up Richard you'll be a millionaire soon! LOL Thank you again. AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!"
