Consumer Reviews
"Car has lots of interior space and gets you where you want to go. Comfy, performs well and plenty of extra makes the Santa Fe one of the top SUVs around."

"Bought this car Feb 2. It's my 4th Hyundai and 3rd Santa Fe, but this vehicle is a whole new animal. BEST car I've ever owned by far. So much fun to drive. Very sporty. You can really feel the road which I like a lot. Drives like a sport car - tons of power, even on steep grades. It's comfortable, roomy and loaded with great features - XM, heated seats all around, Blue Link (like Guidestar) , rear camera, steering comfort setting and more. The car is way smarter than I am, but we're getting acquainted and I couldn't be happier. Go out, treat yourself and buy one!"

"I purchased the vechile new and have enjoyed every minute of it. My drivers side seat is a little loose, took it to the dealer and they are replacing the part."

"I bought the 2013 Santa Fe Sport after driving a Toyota Highlander for almost 10 years. I switched because the Sport was much more like the Highlander was a decade ago - size, feel, etc., but with some nice improvements. I love the feel of the car and the heated steering wheel and the full length sunroof is nice. I live where there is lots of snow and it handles great in snowy conditions. There are, however, some odd things that make me wonder what the Hyundai engineers were thinking when they updated the model line. Things that you wouldn't find in even lower priced vehicles.. Such as: 1. There is no lever/switch/button to open the back hatch door from the drivers seat. You know how many times as a driver you want to pop the back door from your seat? Lots. Cheaper, older Hyundais have a trunk release lever - why not this upscale version? Incomprehensible. 2. The gas gauage is semi-circular on the inside of the speedometer arc. Not where ytou would normally look for it and not looking like a gas guage. It is something you can get used to, but it is NOT an improvement in design. This is compounded by: 3. In certain bright light situations, all the info on the dashboard disappears of is hard to read. Yes, you can adjust the lighting, but, again, you shouldn't have to - it should always be visible. 4. The windshield wipers are different sizes and don't fully cover the glass all the way down to the bottom. The result is a slice of window that never gets cleared, and guess where that is. You got it. Right in the passenger's line of vision. It may seem like a small thing but it's not when you're the passenger and it's a rainy day and you're driving through road crud thrown up by the truck in front of you. Ask my wife. Would it be so hard to make the wiper blade an inch or two longer? 5. There is a design flaw in the gas tank filler hose system. Other reviewers have mentioned it as well. At about 3/4 of a tank the gas filler hose backs up and kicks on (off?) the float and turns off the gas pump. The gas guage (the one that's hard to read) says you are full, but within a few blocks you see it drop about a quarter. It will not accept the last, say, 3 or 4 gallons of a fill up. "Topping off" the tank doesn't work because there is gas backed up in the hose. So you drive off and the motion of the car (or something) shakes the gas down and the guage falls. It is like having a 13 gallon tank instead of a 17 gallon tank. This is intermittant in my case. It's happened 3 times in about 10 fillups) but really annoying, and just shouldn't be in a car this good. It is like the engineers didn't test it. Or listen to the people who did. All that said, I still love the car and am pleased with my purchase. They got it about 97% right. I just wish I had that last 3%."

"After test driving about a dozen mid-sized crossovers, the Santa Fe won me over. It has great MPG and a lot of room, plus pretty lines! We got the non-turbo engine, which is still peppy enough for me, and we upgraded to the leather pkg. I love the 90 trial run of both SIRIUS radio and Blue Link, both of which we'll probably extend and pay to use after the trial is up. The service at Hyundai was great - my husband owns a Genisis as well, so we are now officially a Hyundai Family all the way! No buyer's remorse - love the Santa Fe!"

"I have only had my new Sata Fe for about a month but I love it so far. Rides great & all the technolgy makes it fun & safe to be on the road. The 4 cylinder turbo has plenty of get up & go plus the economy switch keeps my gas money down as well. Plenty of room for kids and whatever else I need to load in the back. I also added the extended plan to an already fantastic warranty, so for an extra $1500, I have bumper to bumper for 10yrs/100,000 miles."

"Ok, I previously drove a Lexus GX470 and also own an Acura MDX, so I am used to luxury SUV's. In trading my Lexus, I wanted something that got better mileage, had great technology and was a good value. The Sante Fe is a great looking vehicle, both on the outside and on the inside. I think it is a great value. I love the technology available as others have indicated. It is laid out really well. The upgraded sound system was better than my top of the line Lexus stereo. And surprisingly love the heated steering wheel. So the function of the car and its features are outstanding. My hesitation with this vehicle is that it just doesn't have any of that fun to drive feeling. And as a tall person and having come from probably the tallest SUV around, it is not easy to adjust to sitting so low. But that is an issue for me, maybe not for most people. So if you are looking for a good looking vehicle with a great layout inside (and yes, you should get the technology & luxury packages with the turbo), this is a great buy for the money. But do so knowing it doesn't have the kick of a V-6 or V-8 and being based on the Sonata, drives more like a sedan than an SUV. Not necessarily a criticism, but just an observation for those that are looking for input."

"I recently moved across the country and purchased a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport AWD Turbo with both the premium and tech package upgrades and I LOVE my car. I knew I wanted AWD and the premium package, but I wasn't sure about the Turbo or the tech package until I got behind the wheel of one fully equipped with the goods. The power of the turbo is a joy to experience and those frosty winter mornings are not bad with heated side view mirrors, heated seats, and a heated steering wheel. My 18mo old daughter and 4yr old sun are mesmerized by the panoramic moonroof and have yet to complain about any length of road trip. The touch screen navigation is packed with features and has saved me so much headache in a new city. I can go anywhere, find anything, and I no longer worry about getting lost. Another feature I adore is the keyless entry and push button start because it saves me so much time getting in and starting my car. Finally, the styling of this car is superb. I love the angles and the curves and the overall look. Not all is perfect though, when I first put the car in gear, it does take a second or two to engage which is odd. Plus the rear vents only seem to blow cold air even when the heat is turned up high. Overall, I'm still extremely satisfied and happy with my new Santa Fe Sport."

"Honestly could not tell the difference between the 2.4 and the turbo. Great ride qulity. Nimble stearing. The technology package is top of the line. The best bang for your buck all around. Can't really tell what the reliability will be yet."

"5 months/3k miles. I was looking for an SUV to replace my BMW 325i. This was the last model in Hyundai's fleet that needed a major upgrade in design and boy did they deliver with the 2013 model! I purchased the 2013 Turbo fully loaded. It's a great car and a good deal comparing the features and price to other similiar SUVs. My complaints mimic what others have said about the gas tank. I thought I had a lemon or they put on the wrong size tank since even though my tank says it's empty...I can only fill up a max of around 13-13.5 gallons. When you leave the gas station the gauge does go down immediately and I feel like my gas is gone a lot quicker. I am averaging about 17/18 with mostly street driving and that is WITH my ECO boost button on! So it's not great, BUT sure beats needing to use premium gas! Other complaints I have...are that it does not have rain sensing wiperblades (ie. have to manually adjust depending on the rain), does not have automatic rear liftgate, doesn't have auto window up/down on both front windows (only driver), doesn't have cooled seats, only heated (wish was feature since I live in Southern CA!), doesn't have park assist or blindspot monitoring for side mirrors. Those features would be nice to have and FORD models have these optional features. Also to be super picky I don't like that the outlets for USB, charger, AUX are all outside in the center console and not in the center console/arm rest hidden away from view. Not sure the thinking behind that, but they are far to reach while driving and visible when parked (I'd much rather have them hidden away in the armrest). What I do LOVE about the car is...heating steering wheel, power seats, heated front seats with 3 levels, nice full leather seats (still smells new!), large nav screen, back up camera, panoramic sun/moon roof, 3 steering adjustable settings, bluetooth, a TON of voice commands, option for bluelink (cool features, but not worth it for me), easy to fold rear seats from trunk, reclining back seats & heated, definitely has nice power for a 4cylinder SUV (helps with the turbo of course!) and everyone loves the style! Plus I love the Marlin Blue color which is a nice change from the boring black, white and silver cars! Hyundai is really making a name for themselves in the marketplace and building very nice reliable cars at great prices compared to other brands. They are really able to compete with the luxury brands....hey I was a two time BMW owner and a previous Audi owner that had enough of the super expensive car repairs and switched! No regrets!"
