"The 2007 Hyundai Sonata is a very nice family vehicle. As though owner of this model, (the GLS V6) I was impressed with its power, its comfort, its smooth driving and its cool styling. The Pros The GLS V6's 234hp, 3.3L V6 engine provides a large amount of power and you have absolutely no trouble getting to high speeds from a dead stop. The power sometimes is so high that the tires tend to slip a little on acceleration, but that's only when you start very, very aggressively. The engine is rather reliable as well, since I have had no troubles with it ever since I acquired it five years ago. The car is very comfortable. The automatic climate control (sadly only for the GLS V6 premium), was efficient, and the leather seats were easy to relax on. The material is all very supple and feels luxurious, especially the knobs and buttons on the console that sometimes feel cheap on inferior vehicles. The smooth ride is one of the Sonata's highlights. Its soft, responsive suspension help to reduce the street bumps to a minimum, and the ride is quiet. If you really floored it, and I mean "floored" it, the engine starts to growl loudly, but even while merging into a highway, the car is relatively quiet, thanks to the powerful V6. I found that there is very little body roll. On sharp turns, the car really feels balanced and in control. As a passenger, one feels quite stable on turns as well. I like the styling on the Sonata. It's quite simple, but the design shows a confident, charismatic look. The tapered headlights and taillights show the refined, aggressive aspects of the styling, while the sharp frontal grilles and dual, chrome-plated exhausts provide the "performance first" type of feeling. The Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Traction Control (TC) help to give the car stability in bad conditions. I live in Toronto, therefore I endure the snow and ice of winters. The car proved quite stable, considering it is not an all-wheel drive. It can be, however, difficult to extract the car when engulfed in snow. The Cons There are bits and bites that tend to annoy you with this car. Though there aren't any major mishaps regarding the long-term quality (at least not yet), I found that small things such as a warning light malfunction or one of the four handles on the ceiling of the car breaking off can be a pain to deal with. In order to keep the general price low, I feel Hyundai has compromised some long-term quality of the little gadgets, but if you're careful, you can make them last for a long time. All in all, the 2007 Sonata is a very nice car, combining value with a surprising amount of quality and luxury. If you're looking into purchasing a used family sedan or even a performance sedan, the Sonata GLS V6 is a good choice."

"I purchase a 4 cylinder 2.4 liter 2007 Hyundai Sonata, which I purchase brand new, it now has been 4 years since I've had this vehicle and during that time I have not had one single mechanical problem with this vehicle, I get about 37 miles to the gallon on the highway and city I only get about 21. It does great during the winter months and during the rainy seasons. The car now has 143000 miles on it and it is still running strong. My only complaint about the vehicle is that it is a bit under power, and the paint is beginning to flake and I am beginning to see some rust."

"I bought this car to replace a 96 Mazda 626. I really liked the overall quality and the roominess of the cabin and the trunk. I have owned the car for about 3 years and it has lived up to my expectations. I especially like the quiet comfortable ride and the stereo system is awesome. My only knock against the car has been the gas mileage. I am only averaging about 23 mpg in mix driving, but did get 28 on the highway a couple of weekends ago."

"I was forced to buy another car, and this was the first car I test drove. Under pressure, I test drove 6 other cars, nonw of which I could afford. I got an excellent price, my car maneuvers like a small car and has fantastic pickup. I have owned a Hyundai before, so I trust the brand, and it was built in Alabama. Great, great, great car. Dependable so far, have only had it a short time. Not an imitation of anything, an original great in its own right. Love my car!!!!"

"The new ads for Hyundais, with the "hidden" camera inside the car during a test drive, are right on the money. It is a remarkably well-engineered car. Extremely quiet, super-smooth (though not flawless) ride, fine handling, adequate acceleration, good ergonomics, very good gas mileage. They really studied the Camry and the Accord and very nearly duplicated all the best features of those cars. If possible, get the SE model- a nice package. The GLS is fine with the power seat- the standard seat is too cheap (agree with CR on that one). At the price point this is a dream car."

"I set out to buy a new Accent, but they turned out to be out of my price range. I wa steered to this AMAZING Sonata and am totally in LOVE! I respect the Hyundai brand having owned one in the past, but this purchase exceeded my standards! This will probably be the last car I buy and I am ecstatic. The features for the price are exceptional. Plus, I got lucky and found a 2007 model with about 10,500 miles on it! I am SO grateful I bought a wonderful, dependable car. Being disabled, this has been a very importatnt purchase for me."

"Great car, even without the great price. Has all the features of the Accord, Camry or Altima, but costs much ($4,000 to $5,000) less. The most impressive features are the standard safety features: front & rear side curtain air bags & vehicle stability control."

"We have owned this car for over 1 year. The looks, drive and comfort are great. Some complain about the spongenest and feeling bumps but we have no complaints. We had 95 Buick custom and it seems the same. On the highway it is great and we get 20/31 just as reported in gov.fuel.com.We got the car form a trusted small lot and saved about $4000-$6000 compared to a dealers used car lot. It was 10 mo. old with 10990 miles. I called the company. We like all of the things that came standard. We bought when gas was $4.00 gal. and thought we should buy a compact but they were picked over. We decided on this 4 cyl. and have been very happy and it has plenty of power for us. It may or may not last like an Accord or a Camry but its a good buy and we highly reccommend. Tim"

"07 Sunata V6, I have had this car now for about 18 mo. baught it from the dealer with 7000 mi and now has 16000 mi. This thing can barely get 14 mpg around town and about 22 on the highway. Have had it into the dealer several times and all they can say is it is runing the way it is suposed to. Lucky me I cant aford to dump it, but other wise it a decent car."
