"Looking for a good but inexpensive car to replace a totaled vehicle. This car has the safety features I was looking for and low mileage. Good car."

"This is a nice riding car, not sporty though more of a smooth, quiet ride. The paint is really nice, a lot of metallic sparkle and shiny. The V6 motor is very smooth, hardly know its idling. I think the interior is upscale, mine has leather seats and wood-like trim a nice stereo and power everything. The negatives are numb handling on the highway, auto trans sometimes isnt sure what gear it wants to be in and the seats could be more supportive. Overall thought, this is a lot of car for the money. It's not perfect, but does many things well."

"Bought this Sonata for my teenagers. Was looking for a reliable car that tested out maximum safety on both types of crash tests (this one beats Accord and Camry) and was affordable. Although seats are not as comfortable as Hondas and Toyotas we have owned, the visibility and responsiveness of the car makes it a much easier car for the teens to drive than our 09 Camry or 08 Sienna. I love getting a turn in the Sonata every now and then. It is actually fun to drive. Definitely the best choice we could have made. Highly recommended."

"We have the 5-Speed Manual. The only porblem we have had, and other experience this too, is the low gear shifting. The clutch/transmission is finicky and you just have to get used to it. One thing I learned is that the shift point are really lower (slower) than I'm used to with my Accord. I litterally shift into 2nd before completely releasing the clutch from starting in third. Beyond this, this is a lovely car. It's more comfortable than an Accord (I'm BIG person.) Roomy and soft ride. The engine is peppy, give you a fast start when you need it. One thing I love is that this car has a timing CHAIN, not belt. I bought it with 60k miles on it and took it to my mechanic expecting to have to replace the timing belt and was delighted to learn that no such thing existed in this car. Bottom line is, I would buy another Sonata in a minute!"

"solid as a bank vault, V-6 is powerful enough to zoom to 95 for passing yet gets 27/31 over it's first 65,000 miles. SE offers decent handling with limited body-roll in corners, sound system is good enough to be in my home. Love this car!"

"This car has great value for the money as a family sedan. However you must give up fun driving which mostly comes from poor transmission(but not worse than every nissan sedan). Good gas miles, no trouble yet, runs smoothly. better than american midsize sedan and at the similar level of Accord and Camry with less price!!"

"The seats don't have power lumbar, so are killing my back. The valve covers leak, the struts bounce, there is no sound insulation, so road noise is prolific. It's got some good power, but once out of first, only a manual shift gets a downshift to first. The tranny is very, very weak, and you can feel the shifts all the time. Shudders and shakes at shift point. Radio/navigation/usb has issues all the time. Only leather is on seating surfaces, all else is vinyl. They cut corners for price and it shows. Not recommended."

"I have a 2009 SE model that I bought new and I must say that it is the best car I have had so far. The SE sport tuned suspension provides a smooth and firm ride that makes the car very enjoyable to drive under all conditions. Very nice inside and out and roomier than most car it's size. I have more than 35,000 miles on it and no reliability issues so far. Gas mileage and performance are very good with the 2.4 engine."

Great Car - Great Value 2010 4cyl Sonata LTD

"I spent months researching vehicles and test driving. Occasionally I'd be checking out a car lot and would be very tempted by an older model of a main stream classic (i.e. camry, altima, lexus) but I'd remind myself that I had researched and decided on the Hyundai. With an almost perfect score with Consumer Reports and great review on Edmunds and many glowing consumer reviews it made perfect sense. Though there were year end deals to be had on the new 2011, I personally didn't care for the new styling. It's not top of the line (Lexus) quality, but every bell and whistle is there in the limited model. So many convenience things you wouldn't expect in this price range car - auto lights, telescoping wheel, auto climate control, great stereo system. Another feature I love is when you put the car in gear the doors lock - when you turn off the key in park, they unlock. My old car locked automatically, but didn't unlock automatically - very annoying. The car has plenty of pick up to pass on the interstate and pull out in traffic. I'm surprised at the power of the 4 cylinder. Only occasionally can I tell it is not a V6. Recent trip we got 36 mpg. The interior of the car is huge and comfortable. I'm glad I held out for a limited model - love the leather and the wood trim and little extras. My ONLY complaint on the car is considerable road noise, particularly at high speed. Also at high speed there is wind noise to the point you're checking the windows and sunroof. Though that can be annoying I decided that was pretty much the main thing that would give away the price range of the car. I've only had the car a couple weeks, but this is car number 15. Over the years I've owned Lexus, Infiniti, Nissan, Toyota, Volvo, Volkswagon, Mazda, Ford and Saab. The Lexus was my favorite, but this one is looking mighty good."
