"I purchased my Tucson on Mothers Day evening but test drove it the day before. When I got home I was skeptical but as I drove it I was starting to feel really happy. I traded in a 2008 Lexus IS 250 because I worked very far and was loosing my job and wanted something reliable and reasonable to take care of. I owned a Honda CRV before I bought my Lexus and wanted to go back to the SUV. Driving my Lexus was way to low to the ground and had more flats in those low profile tires. I was just tired of it so I decided to go back to my SUV. I am loving my Tucson. It does drive just as smooth as the lexus. Don't get me wrong, it's not a lexus but it almost close to the ride. I do have to say that they put an after market navigation system in this one and it is very complicated and the screen is hard to see. Other than that it is an excellent SUV for the money. I have to agree with some of the reviews regarding the ECO, it does not make a difference in the mileage but that was OK with me being that I came from paying for the highest gas in the lexus to Regular Unleaded. I'm loving it!!!!"

"I've had my new Tucson for about three weeks now and I can't get enough of it! One week after getting it, I took a road trip about 300 miles each way. The car was awesome. It's so comfortable and has so many great features. I love the bluetooth and the usb hook-up! I even took the car off-roading and it didn't slip once. I gave Performance 4 stars just because it's a 4 cylinder. A lot of the trip was through mountains and it actually performed better than I was expecting but it's still not a V6. And I only gave Reliability 4 stars just because the verdict is still out. So far it's been great but it's only been 3 weeks!"

Getting over that deep gut sick feeling

"Traded a Jeep Grand Cherokee in for a Tucson GLS 4 cly auto. At first wasn't sure I made a good decision. As time has passed, I'm liking the Tucson better each time I drive it. The ride is smooth and almost as quite as the Jeep GC. The seats are as good as most larger vehicles, and a lot better than the other brand smaller SUV's. Leg room is great, front and rear. Engine performance is peppy, it surprized me, and my jeep was a V8. My driving is part city and Highway. It has averaged 30.1 . I made my first interstate trip yesterday, The traffic was moving well but running around 65 mph. I saw as high as 38.1 for a few miles. Then it dropped to 35 and 36, It played back and forth at that range. When I reached my destination the MPG had settled in at 35.6 Hwy. This trip had two adults, luggage and A/C running. I tried the ECO, and didn't see much improvement at all. I did notice ECO had less performance and less A/C but all was adequate. I do like the large diameter brake rotors. This is a great improvement over the past few years with most brand vehicles, You know the warp the rotor routine. I know the brakes are better than most, and truly believe the rotors will last better than most, without warpage. I like the 10 year 100,000 mile power train warranty, Of course that is for the engine and transmission. I also like the 5 year unlimited mile road side warranty, as explained to me, If you hit a pot hole and blow a tire the warranty will replace the tire free, and or wheel. This was pointed out in the manual, hope it's correct. I don't see anything wrong with this vehicle at all, so far so good. I guess my being a vehicle Tech for 30 years makes me look closely at running gear more so than most people. So the only thing I see that I don't like is the new style larger wheels. This one has 17 inch rims. Anytime you have a large diameter wheel with low profile tires you get a harsh ride when you hit a bump. The larger the wheel and the lower the profile tire you get a rough ride, but great handling. This also improves tire rolling resistance for better fuel economy, so were stuck with the new style wheels. Anyway....I now have proven to myself this is a good vehicle and love it."

"I have had my Tucson GLS for three and a half months now and I am loving the gas mileage! I have been averaging 26-27 mpg in the city. I took my first road trip in it this past week and got 31 mpg. I use the ECO feature almost exclusivly. I was worried about the room in the back seat, but everyone has commented how much room they have before I can ask. I guess looks are deceiving until you are back there. I would like a little more cargo room, but so far it has been sufficient. I have the Chai Bronze color and wish they made the cargo cover in that color but all I can find is black and tan. That is my only complaint!"

"2005 Tucson/gas guzzler. Current mileage 62,000 & on my 4th battery. Hyundai service dept. has not been able to determine a cause. Inquiry to Hyundai Consumer Hdqts., no results. In reading other reviews it appears the Tucson is a "mixed bag" as far as fuel efficiency is concerned; some happy and some disappointed. Would recommend to a friend with a warning of poor fuel efficiency. Except for the expense of purchasing batteries & constant gas fill ups it's a pretty good vehicle."

"I purchased a Tucson limited and it is great. I really appreciate the disc brakes on all four wheels. My escape and some other small SUV's have drum brakes in the rear. Drum brakes went out back in the 1960's. I am shocked what car compaies will hide to just save a couple bucks. Anyway I love the mileage and accessories and the extended warranty. The ride is smooth and quiet. I highly reccomend it. :)"

Tuscon has low mileage like sonanta better

"Puechased the limited version tuscon traded my 2011 sonata because it was too low and cramped seats. I miss the mileage of the sonata this tuscon has almost 2800 miles since I purchased it in december 2011. It is a bit noisy handles well but the rising gas cost makes it a costly vehicle to drive. Much better visibilty than the sonata but seats are more comfortable and are heated. The dual comfort controls are good. The center console also is smaller than the sonata. I miss the small compartment below the radio used for personal stuff. Plan on a long trip this summer but will be costly roomy is another word for front seating. I constantly reset the dash computre to check mileage and performance which is hard to determine what I get. Range is usually 3335 miles because the fuel tank is smaller than the sonata. Hot almost 450 miles on a full tank of my sonata. This review indicates a sonat for economy but comfort tuscon is better. Time will tell how long I will keep it."

"Excellent value for the money. We got the Limited version and it came loaded with EVERYTHING including heated leather seats, front and rear sunroofs, and auto two zone climate control. The only drawback is a little noise at highway speeds."

"Overall the vehicle is well performing. I'm getting better mileage than I thought in the city (25.6 mpg) and almost as much (31.5 mpg) as the Hynudai blurb says on the Highway. Two things: Car is noisier than I expected and that I've been used to. Headlight beams are not sufficient in width, depth, intensity. Otherwise if this car performs in ten years as it does now, I'll be satisfied."
