"Love my Jeep Renegade. Can't believe it's almost 7yrs old. Haven't had much problems with it. The 4-wheel and split time drive is great. I have two small kids, so it's nice that it is bigger but not too big where I can't reach my hand behind me and not be able to reach them, like our Surburban. However, the cup holders in the back are not accessible to kids in booster seats. So the lack of cup holders is a downside, hence my 4 stars on interior design and features. I have the 6-CD changer which I love. I think I might need to get my shocks looked at though...the Jeeps rides a little rougher than I remember in the past. Sometimes I feel like a bobble head on the interstate."

"I bought my Jeep Liberty 4 years ago, and haven't had a single problem! It handles great in the snow, as well as off-road and on hills. My husband uses it like he would a truck for hauling and heavier work. The gas mileage is pretty good for an SUV, too. The only problem is that there isn't really a whole lot of passenger room in the backseat."

Jeep lover not impressed

"The Liberty is my 3rd Jeep - my first was a Cherokee and the 2nd a Grand Cherokee. I loved the Cherokee! The Grand Cherokee was luxurious, but way too big for me. Hence my decision to purchase the Liberty. BIG MISTAKE! I now live in Wisconsin and this vehicle doesn't handle well at all on snow and ice. Granted, I'm no expert driving in the tundra (I grew up in Ohio), but I expected more from a Jeep. Even with three 70-lb. tubes of sand in the back, I still slid several times down our driveway into the ditch. I honestly don't see how other reviewers can claim it handles well in those conditions. I have the Limited model which offers all the bells and whistles (I HAD to have heated seats here!), but the shortened dashboard is disconcerting after the roomier Grand Cherokee. There is also a blind spot on the driver's side that scares the daylights out of me and I find myself checking not once, twice, but THREE times when making a lane change. And did I mention the awful gas mileage? About 16-18 miles to the gallon - the same as my husband's HUGE Ford F-150 truck. On the plus side: for a small SUV, the cargo space is decent. And as with all my other Jeeps, no major mechanical problems whatsoever. I still love Jeep, but would give ANYTHING to have my old Cherokee back."

"I have had my 2003 Jeep Liberty back to the dealer four times for a failed sensor that is connected to the speedometer. Apparently this sensor is mounted on the rear axles (which had to be replaced but under the warranty). Don't know if anyone else has had this problem but it started in August 2006, again in June 2007, April 2008 and now I will be returning it this week to the dealer to have the sensor replaced again. I think it's time to replace the whole speedometer, but I was told that there might be something on the flywheel. Not an expert on mechanical problems myself but I try to keep educated. This is also a low mileage vehicle as with today's gas prices I am limiting my driving as I only get about 14 mpg around town. Ugh!"

"I special ordered this vehicle after my 1st Jeep Liberty Renegade was destroyed in a traffic accident. I was very happy with it for 3 years; however, I began to experience serious mechanical issues with the vehicle right after the warranty expired! First, the 5 speed transmission bit the dust, then the A/C Compressor (crucial in Arizona) flamed out. I've spent 3K in repairs in 4 1/2 years!"

"Plan to extend the warranties or trade it in shortly after the warranties expire. I would recommend this vehicle to a friend who leases or trades in a car after 3 years. If planning to purchase to this vehicle new, don't finance past 36 months or 42 at the most."

"This Jeep is true to its name. It has excellent performance and looks good at what it does. The Liberty will take you where ever you want and do it comfortably. To me it rides better then the Escape and the Rav4. I can go places where my friends cant and i dont have to worry about getting stuck like they do."

"I love the Liberty!! When I seen the Sport, and from what I heard, it was a base model, but the one i got was very well equipped. I got the four cylinder model... most people think 150hp for a truck this size doesn't perform well, but it provides plenty of pep. Not to mention 27 MPG!!"
