"Every web site I've checked doesn't like the Patriot, and every person I know who has one loves it. Just read the consumer reviews and you'll see that if you give the Patriot a chance, you won't be sorry. First, the SUVs that the Patriot is matched against will cost you a lot more. The editors always leave that part out. Secondly, if you're looking for a beefed up 'man toy', or a luxury SUV, then this is not your car. I get 25 mpg in town and 30 on the highway. The FWD is more than enough to deal with winter in Iowa, and the base model comes with the side airbags which gives it a top safety rating. If you want a safe, affordable vehicle then try the Patriot. If you can afford an expensive car then you probably don't read car reviews anyway. Try a Patriot."

"Bought a 2010 Jeep Patriot Latitude. Nice vehicle. Has a very good ride and gets great gas mileage, especially for a SUV. Plenty of room for 6 footer in front and back. Had all the safety features. Make sure to get one with torso side impact airbags for the highest rating."

"I bought the front wheel drive 4cyl '10 with almost all the bells and whistles (minus sunroof and gate speakers). I love it I am 6'2" and my wife is 5'2" and we both feel very comfortable driving this SUV. It is large enough to get some serious DIYing done but small enough to fit into some tight dity parking spaces. I have hauled quite a bit of stuff from home centers including interior doors. I've taken road trips and have gotten great gas mileage. Excelleration is adequate and can rev high going from 0-50mph when entering high ways. But when cruising you hardly hear a thing. The only real draw back is that there are a few blind spots due to the body style and the rear view mirrors location. But it just causes you to turn your head more often then just trusting your mirrors."

"Excellent vehicle with one exception..the small gas tank. Always seem to be filling it up, though it doesn't cost much to do it. Averaging 25 mpg. Can not believe how smooth this transmission is when the car excellerates. You can't even tell it's shifting gears; even entering an Interstate. Improvements? Larger gas tank..Lighted cruise control instrument..Slightly wider rear storage compartment. Can't lay my golf clubs sideways. I would still recommend this vehicle to anyone."

"We bougt this JEEP a few months ago and love it , gret value for the money. The vehicle is quiet , has JEEP corporate styling . Our vehicle is 4WD with manual tranny . No complaints other than a lack of power at lower RPM speeds . For the money it is a great deal . We would recommend it to anyone who drives in snowy winter conditions ."

"My wife and I bought this Jeep brand new as we just had a baby. We were looking for something that was safe, good on gas and easy for my wife to drive, as she drives it most of the time. we bought a 2 wheel drive with a sun roof. Within 3 months we had the problem with the leaking sun roof. Took it back to the dealer and they told us that the drain tube gets pinched when installed at the factory, and they have a repair guy that knows how to fix it right the first time. I was not impressed and sceptical. But 9 months later and some heavy rain storms, I must say that we have not had a drop of water inside the car. The gas mileage on the jeep is ok, nothing special, but nothing terrible. We love the room we have, and that we sit a little higher hen a car. If we bought a monster truck with a V8 then we would have too much room that we don't use, and our cost for fuel would double or triple. We really did a lot of comparing before we bought this jeep, and this is the best bang for your buck when you look how much more $$$ a Ford Escape, or Chevy Equinox is. I won't even mention the OVER priced imports. So in general if you drive a car nice and according to the speed limits, this car is great. But if you race from one red light to another, and weave in and out of traffic like your trying to win some imaginary race, then this is NOT the car for you."

"Very comfortable ride. Great factory stereo. Much quieter than my old Cherokee, yet still has a similar feel. Only thing I don't like about it is the exterior design....something missing in the side view, but I can't pinpoint it."

"got a great deal, and luv it!! it's super purrdy:) soooo glad we bought american this time! like that i can switch to "manual trans" whenever i want. like the back seat lays flat and flush w/the back. didn't have to pay extra for the roof rack or the floormats. and, we got the base model(with auto/cvt trans), w/only 4cyl. it was/is the least-expensive and best-looking "mid-sized" SUV we could find:) i think we'll only buy jeeps, from our new favorite dealership, from now-on!"
