Consumer Reviews
"This was a perfect vehicle. Thanks to the website I found the exact vehicle I'd been searching for. The 4-cyl engine doesn't have much pep on the hills but it's perfect for weekend tooling around the countryside."

"I bought my first Jeep in 1999 (used) as a Retirement present for myself after 21 yr of military service. From the moment I drove it off the lot, it has been a roller-coaster ride that still has not worn off. The 4.0L Inline 6 cylinder engine is a beast! Mine had Automatic Transmission, A/C, cruise control, sound bar, hard & soft tops, fog lights, the works. In the summer time, I remove the hard top and enjoy the open air. Just last month, someone asked me what year my Jeep was and they were amazed when I told them. 11 yrs old and still looks brand new. In the winter time, I put 2 60 lb bags of sand in the back and go where-ever I want. I have never been stuck and my Jeep has always gotten me where-ever I wanted to go. Two weeks ago (Sep 2010), my wife was hit on the side and it flipped the Jeep over. The hard top had to be cut off to extract her from the vehicle. After all that, she sustained only 1 bruise from the steering wheel. The seat belt and roll bar are safety features that were critical to the lack of injuries. My Jeep served me well for over a decade and saved my sweetie as it's final task. Needless to say, I pick up my next Jeep this Saturday. I will always have a Jeep."

"My jeep is by far the best vehicle i have ever owned. I got mine my junior year in high school and have driven it ever since. Had a couple of problems from time to time like any other car. I have had a 1994 acura integra, and a 1977 Datsun 280z in my day and yet this is by far my favorite vehicle to drive. I plan on getting another hopefully soon, just want a newer model. You cant go wrong with a wrangler."

"My Jeep Wrangler was the best, most fun car I've owned. I will always be loyal to the Jeep brand and can't wait for them to come out with a hybrid!"

"Full hard doors and the 4.0 litre engine are a must if buying one used, unless the jeep is going to be an extra vehicle just for knocking around on the weekends. Mine is a sahara, and it is my daily drive; I have had it for over 4 years now and have had no major problems. It is loud on the high way even with the hard top installed, but jeeps weren't made for highways, but around town it's fine."

"I will start off with the comfort. It rides horribly. Even with some of the best quality suspension available on the jeep market (OME). The jeep rode a little better than it did from the factory but still very rough. 2 out of 5. here Next, performance. The 4.0L I6 delivers plenty of low end torque. The 4 lo further reduces gear ratios when needed offroad. The main issue is the mpg. Getting 13-15mpg is the average. For power 4 stars should do it. Next, handling. It has a high center of gravity. Some of the main flaws are that it uses track bars. When you hit a bump. The front axle shifts towards the driver and the rear axle shifts towards the passenger. This is just how it works which makes it handle quite jerky. Onroad handling is not that good with this vehicle especially if it's lifted. In comparison to other SUVs (not cars) 2 out of 5. Offroad is where it shines. No matter how much mud or snow i threw at it, it goes where you point it. For bad conditions i give it 5 out of 5. Over all handling 3. The styling. It has the old classic look yet it has the new modern touch to it such as the headlights. 4 out of 5 here. The interior design is bad. It's uncomfortable, the back seat has horrible design that starts knocking as soon as a thin plastic bushing wears out. The seats are way too high in the front so they cut blood flow to your legs. The windshield defroster only blows air in the middle of the windshield which is a pain in the cold with frozen windshield. The interior is just not user friendly. 2 out of 5. The only features that makes the Wranglers stand out is they have hard and soft top. They also have removable doors and front windshield which is very fun in the summer. That?s where it stops though. If you get a jeep with an AC, you should be happy. Other options such as heated seats or power windows are nonexistent. The removable tops is what makes jeeps what they are but because of the many other features they lack, 4 out of 5 is a fair score. As value for the money goes. I believe it's overpriced. For the features that you get, it is not worth buying a wrangler. Reliability is the main problem with these. I bought mine at 40k miles. Since then driven it 15k miles and it has been in the shop about 6 times. This jeep has under 60k miles, I change all the fluid and do all the maintenance according to the book and yet is has tons of problems."

"I had mixed feelings before but, the dealer has fixed recalls and it drives better than when I bought it!! (stupid recalls.) And I love its look and ruggedness. The seat could use a lower back, or lumbar support. I also think it would be great if they could lower the seat more than the 2". I will always be a Jeep Chick!!!"

"I have owned several cars; Japanese, American, British, Swedish; but this Jeep has been the only one with which I have had no problems. It handles better and feels more stable than an Explorer, can handle construction with aplomb, brakes better than my old Volvo 240, has been rear-ended four times with nary a scratch, and has an entire aftermarket industry for accessories. Plus you gotta love the removable top and doors. I never use the air-conditioning, and the CD player is terrible, but with the top down you don't need either one. My only complaint is that the paint is not the highest quality."

"Really enjoy my Jeep. It's the automatic 4.0 Inline 6, very quick and tows my trailer with no problem. Gas mileage is weak at 16 around town and 19-20 hwy. It would be nice if the automatic had overdrive, although I drove it 300 miles the other day and wished I had taken a regular car, soft top is very loud above 65mph. It's made for around town and off road driving and serves those purposes well. Would not recommend as a daily driver unless you get a hard top. The ride is actually pretty good and the interior is nice and simple. Mechanically it has been great."

"The Jeep 2000 Wranger (or in Canada marketed as the TJ Sport/Sahara) is a reliable, strong, well built car, but only if it is well maintained. My parents purchased the car in 2000 and in 2005, they gave me the car. Since then, the majority of problems (ranging from a burnt out windsheild wiper motor, damages signal switch, water leaks, worn out belt, leaking radiator), I feel were the result of poor maintenance. After having fixed everything, I decided to sell it."
