"This is my third Jeep Wrangler. I owned a 1994 YJ; I bought a New 2000 Sport; and Finally a New 2006 Unlimited Rubicon. I've always loved Jeeps, but my Rubicon has been a disaster. Over the coarse of a year, the battery went bad, windshield had to be replaced due to stress fractures (factory flaw), and my biggest complaint, and biggest disappointment, the 6 speed manual transmission. I have had issues since I reached 1000 miles with the transmission. It shifts horribly, binding / rough shifts. Still not properly fixed after 3 different dealerships. No longer fun to drive. This was supposed to be my dream Wrangler, but instead I fight with the transmission. Top it all off with horrible service at 2 out of 3 dealerships. My advice - be careful and fully test the 6 speed manual transmission on the 2006 Unlimited Rubicons!"

"Yes, it can be a fun vehicle, but I bought the right hand drive for work, It only has 25,000 miles and I am replcing the brakes and ROTORS for the 4th time. Where is my Jeep tough at? I am so disappointed in it. I work part time as a rural mail carrier, I guess that explains why I purchased a right hand drive. It is also hard for passagers in the back to get in and out of it. Took it on a trip to the beach, it looks good but, road noise, and it is hard on the body, no comfort at all. I love the look of the jeep, but that is it."

"i have always been a big jeep fan, but i must say, "the shocks are terrible...this jeep hits a bump in the road and the front end shakes excessively, and could cause an accident...i think jeep forgot to add the valving for the extra weight for the unlimited version i have....the over-all ride on the black top is terrible...with the right shock valving ,,its great.."

"The 06 Wrangler X is fun to drive under any weather condition. The seven speaker premium stereo/cd player easily rises above any wind noise.The rear tumble seat is easy to fold when additional room is needed for groceries or other payloads. While the soft top is great in the summer weather,the optional hard top is a much better fit for northern climates where snow is a fact of life for roughly half the year. It also allows easy access to cargo area without struggling with zippers and velcro and helps extend your soft top life. This Jeep tackles deep snow without any problems. The smokers package is hard to negotiate even though the previous ashtray location has a useless blank panel. It consists of a lighter and a ashtrsay that slides into the cupholder. It was better before. Sand Dune and two track performance is excellant. The heater and air conditioning systems are top notch. Easy to park in the tightest of spots. Highly recommended if you want the real deal."

"While I have wanted a Wrangler for what seems like forever, I purchased my Unlimited in February of this year. My past experiences with SUV's have been that while they are usually quite comfortable, they lack a certain 'fun factor'. This Unlimited is definitely NOT short on the 'fun factor'. For the kind of vehicle it is, I get decent gas mileage while having the option of putting the top down on beautiful summer days and still having the 4WD for those snowy winters. Every time I get into my Jeep, I look forward to the drive, whether its just to work or across the state but unless you own one, you're probably saying to yourself; "It must be a Jeep thing, I guess I don't understand!""
