"Bought my LX V6 Sport used with 14K miles, now have 32K. This car has a ton of nice features for the money, including the fold-flat passenger seat, split reclining rear seats (great for sleeping), rear under-floor storage and adjustable center armrest. The fog lights are the most effective I've ever seen. I get good mileage (always over 20MPG), and have had zero problems, not even a squeak or rattle. I've owned lots of vehicles, and the fit and finish on this one easily rates with Honda and Nissan. KIA and Hyundai are becoming known for quality, and the Sportage is a good example why."

"MY WIFE AND I HAVE HAD (2) KIA SPORTAGE. THE FIRST WAS A 2005 SPORTAGE. WE WERE HIT IN THE REAR BY A DUMP TRUCK THAT WAS TRAVELING 60 MPH. THE KIA WAS TWISTED LIKE A CORK SCREW AND THE FRAME WAS TOTALED AS WAS THE CAR. WE RECIEVED A SLIGHT WHIP LASH BUT NO OTHER INJURYS. THE CAR TOOK THE SHOCK NOT US .THIS CAR IS VERY SAFE. WE BOUGHT A 2008 KIA SPORTAGE. THEY ARE DEPENDABLE,NICE TO DRIVE. THE ONLY IMPROVEMENT I WOULD SUGGEST IS A LOUDER HORN. THANKS"

"I reviewed this car in july after owning it a few weeks (2007 kia sportage 4wd 2.7 v-6 Lx), now that we have had a chance to see how it performes in the 'arctic' weather, I am writing again. This has been a wonderful car for us, it performes excellent on ice and snow, it has an EXCELLENT heater, which is very crucial for my wife. We have taken it on a couple of trips to the twin cities and the car was very comfortable and fun to drive. The only problem is the mileage it gets, especially with an astro-start, but I really don't care that much because I know that suvs just don't get great mileage, if I wanted great mileage I would have bought a tiny front wheel drive car, but that's not what we wanted. If your looking for a great little suv with lots of standard options, a great heater, a nice comfy ride, plenty of snort(v-6),the best warranty in the buisness, and at a great price compared to the rav, crv, grand vitara, escape, then get yourself one of these and you'll be very happy(or a tucson, same car). I also like the liftback with NO tire on the back, believe me, that swing-out door(on most other compititors) with tire on it will be a pain in the rear for you. The ESC (stability control) is also a very nice feature. We have had no problems with this car so far. This is a nice, safe, small suv, I don't think you'll regret getting one, thank you."

"This vehicle is very pratical and smooth to drive. Excellent fuel milage and exceptional comfort for any driver. Sound system is better than average and the ground clearance appropriately overcomes many of the everyday city/suburban obstacles (rain, potholes, debris, etc...). Honda's & Toyota's reputation and competancy have been OFFICIALLY CHALLENGED. Value, efficiency, reliability, style, comfort, have been consolidated into this vehicle. This "First" time Buyer very impressed. Anything less would be a paper-weight."

"my wife and i usually buy a new car every 15 years or so. we read surveys, ads, listen to people ta,lk, etc. appearance pleased us, the interior was designed by people wanting to give the most cosumer usable items in a well designed package. gas mileage is better than expected. we usually are good judges of well made products. of course only time will tell if we were right about the 2007 kia sportage as we were with the 1992 oldsmobile silhouette minivan we traded in with 85000."

"I bought my Kia new this summer and have been very disappointed in the way it handles when passing other vehicles. The transmission sometimes stalls and seems to want to go back into neutral which is scary when you are doing 60 mph. I think it is stiff handling and feels boxy. Once I had signed on the dotted line I found out that it didn't even come with an automatic door opener but rather just a simple key. I guess I had assumed in this day and age that every new car came with an auto door opener pretty standard. I can't wait to drive it long enough to justify trading it off."

"my wife was tired of the minivan thing and wanted a small suv, so after some internet homework and looking around at local dealers we decided on the kia sportage Lx,2.7L, 4wd(we live in minnesota). We were very impressed how smooth the ride is, having drivin suv's in the past, we always recalled the typical rough ride due to stiff suspension. We are also impressed by the roomy interior. I also like the fact that this is a front wheel drive that will get help from the rear wheels when needed, where many other suvs are just the opposite, we haven't had an opportunity to use the 4wd system yet, we hope it will work good. We are impressed with the power and smoothness of the engine, it's not the most powerful mini suv out there I'm sure, but it has plenty of snort for us. The first tank of gas got us about 19 mpg, 1/2 city,1/2 highway driving. The price, warranty, and standard features of the sportage was better than the competiters, which made it an easier decision for us, plus it's a good looking car, we didn't like the look of the spare tire on the back of some of the other suvs. We have only drivin the car 500 miles, which is why we gave it an average rating on reliability, but we have had no problems with it yet, and hopefully we won't, and the great warranty gives us much peace of mind if we did have a problem. Also check out the Hyundai tucson, from what I hear, it's the same car as a sportage."

"As a University Student with long commute this SUV is awesoome and some more. Low gas usage with these rising gas prices. The seating is exxcellent because I am small. Less than 5'4". The looks on peoples face when I ZOOM and leave them behind. No problem with my acceleration, I have driven worst. My friend is green with ENVY. And I have more features than my other friends SUV and I paid a LOOOt LEEESSS!!! Hi Hi"
