Consumer Reviews
"Had the car 18months and was 'sold' on the exterior styling. However, its had many faults. Sunroof not closing, alloy wheels corroding, creaks and rattles from the roof, loud and unrefined diesel etc etc. I think Kia have some way to go."

"Bet SUV I've had yet. I've had a Honda CRV, Ford Escape, Ford Explorer, Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. The KIA Sportage has the best styling and performance of any of them. I thoroughly enjoy it even though I was skeptical of it being a KIA, it has surpassed expectations. I just love it! It isn't dorky like the CRV or RAV4, and it has plenty of pep for a 4-cyl. I highly recommend it!"

"While this car has been quite reliable and a good vehicle, it has disappointed me in a couple regards. First off, amongst some reviews and testing, it seems Kia decided to detune the launch on the 2012 Kia Sportage Turbo compared to the 2012. Why, I do not know. A 7.5 second 0-60 in a light CUV AWD with 260hp is unacceptable, should be in the mid 6s. My second gripe is although it seems well built and has been reliable, it has developed some creaks since new, I wouldn't say it is noise free. This is disappointing as it seemed perfect on the test drive. I probably wouldn't buy this car again personally."

"I bought a 2012 Sportage last October after 8 weeks of research. I was really excited and people always commented what a great looking car it is. I drive a lot, I wanted to love it. I got my oil changed regularly and I kept the car neat. However, 5 months ago, while driving at a constant speed of 40mph (with my young children with me) I tapped the gas to change lanes. Suddenly ,there was a loud roar of the engine, the rpms shot to 7 but nothing happened. I didn't accerlorate. Out of reaction I immediately took my foot off the gas & just as quickly, everything went back to normal. This has haapened regularly now for 5 month, I have been to the dealership 4 times, I have contacted the BBB and it still scares my children everytime. This has not been resolved & unfortuatley I can not afford to just go buy another new car. So, that leaves me very sad & frustrated."

"I took my sweet 'ol time purchasing this vehicle due to the market being flooded with many options. I chose the Kia Sportage for the ride, looks, comfort, technical amentities it offers, the free extended warrantees and overall marketability. I'm happy with this vehicle and would tell others about it."

"This is my 2nd Kia Sportage, I also have had 2 Hyundai's. There is not one bad thing I could say about them. I got the lx model with the convenience package. I love the back up sensors. The previous sportage I had was a 06. With smaller engine, the 12 has a bigger engine and better gas mileage."

"I know someone who traded their 2008 Toyota Highlander Sport for a 2012 Kia Sportage LX AWD with Convience Package. She absolutely LOVES it. When she bought it, i was a little dissapointed, but the car grew on me. I think its very cute and stylish :) Good car ;)"

"I bought a 2012 Sportage EX in March, and I could not be happier with it. I did a ton of research before picking this model, and it's easily the best value in its class. So far I haven't had a single problem with it. It has all the features I need, including some that are usually reserved for more expensive cars (i.e. heated and cooled leather seats, back-up camera, etc.), and I constantly get compliments on how nice it is. Fuel economy is good, and it drives like a car -- unlike the SUVs I've had in the past. My only complaint is that I wish the engine were a little more powerful when accelerating...but Kia does offer the SX to fix this problem."

"I've owned two Sportages ('95 & '02) and a Sorento ('06), all purchased new, prior to buying my 2012 Sportage SX Turbo. This is by far my favorite! Great performance and handling with the turbo! Super styling inside and out! Has all the bells and whistles and two sunroofs! Love it and highly recommend it. And you can't go wrong with the warranty!"
