Vehicle Overview

Revised for 2013, the five-seat LR2 is a compact luxury SUV, like the Acura RDX and BMW X3. It provides a less expensive alternative to Land Rover's other offerings. The 2013 LR2 is powered by a new 240-horsepower, turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Off-road ability gets a boost thanks to permanent four-wheel drive that can distribute nearly all engine power to the front or rear wheels.
New for 2013
The LR2 has been significantly revised for 2013 with new exterior and interior styling cues, a new turbocharged four-cylinder engine that replaces the prior inline-six-cylinder and newly available Meridian premium audio among the changes.
Evolutionary styling changes on the 2013 LR2 are most evident in front and back, as the SUV gets an updated front end with a new grille, bumper and headlights, as well as new taillights and an updated liftgate. With 8.3 inches of ground clearance and a 29-degree approach angle, the LR2 is more off-road-capable than the RDX and X3. Exterior features include:

  • Two-piece panoramic moonroof
  • 18-inch alloy wheels; 19-inch wheels optional
  • Xenon high-intensity-discharge headlights
  • LED taillights

Two rows of seats accommodate five occupants. The dashboard controls are roughly arranged as before but now feature a more premium appearance. Leather upholstery and a 7-inch touch-screen are standard. Interior features include:

  • Standard power front seats
  • Available heated front seats and steering wheel
  • Available Meridian premium stereo
  • Available navigation system

Under the Hood
The LR2's new engine is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that generates 240 hp and 250 pounds-feet of torque. Mechanical features include:

  • Six-speed automatic transmission
  • Four-wheel drive
  • Towing capacity of 3,500 pounds when properly equipped
  • Selectable Terrain Response system varies vehicle response to driving conditions

Safety features include:

  • Four-wheel-disc antilock brakes
  • Electronic stability system with Roll Stability Control
  • Side-impact airbags for the front seats, side curtain airbags and a driver's knee airbag
  • Available backup camera
