- Service & Repair
Redesigned last year, Land Rover's flagship Range Rover SUV seats up to five and utilizes aluminum construction to save weight, helping both performance and gas mileage. Buyers have a choice of either a V-6 or V-8 engine, both of which are supercharged. Competitors include the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, Porsche Cayenne and Lexus LX 570.
New for 2014
A new, more efficient supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine replaces the normally aspirated 5.0-liter V-8 as the base engine in the Range Rover. The supercharged V-6 gets an EPA-estimated 17/23 mpg city/highway compared to 14/20 mpg for last year's 5.0-liter V-8. Fuel-saving stop-start technology, which shuts off the engine to avoid unnecessary idling, is also new.
