"I saw a ct200h with out of state plates driving in front of me one day and thought, "Wow, sharp car. What is it?" I caught up and made note of the model. I live in the Rockies. There are currently very, very few ct's in the Rocky Mountain States. Apparently, the California dealers can't get enough of them given their crazy fuel situation. The local Lexus dealer in my town - 30 miles away - has yet to stock one. That's going to change. I took some time and researched the car and read the reviews. They weren't always kind (Car and Driver). I was a little skeptical but since I have owned two amazing LX's (450 and 470) I was very confident in the Lexus nameplate. I ordered a ct200h sight unseen from a dealer over 100 miles away - and since they were a Lexus dealer, they delivered it to me! I currently own a 2009 BMW 535xi wagon (the darling of Car and Driver) and a 2000 LX470. Both of them are phenomenal cars. I don't plan on getting rid of either anytime soon. They fill a niche that I need. The ct fills a completely different niche - scooting around town and playing up in the hills - but does so with similar grace and aplomb. Bottom line: I love driving this little thing. Ironically, "It's a gas!" As for mountain driving, the Sport mode for climbing and the B mode for descending are more than adequate. If you live in the hills, you rely heavily on engine braking to keep the descents under control. The B mode is a good substitute to downshifting. Don't believe the car review rags. Look at the owner reviews - they're overwhelmingly positive. This is a great little car. Lexus is using the same strategy they used when they first came out with the LS models in the early '90's. They're underpriced to win a loyal following. Same story here. The prices will go up, up and up. I'm very happy with my ct200h base model. It's a head turner and it's easy to navigate around town. I would buy again in a minute."

"I originally was going to by a certified preowned Mercedes but was put off by the gas mileage and possible maintenance costs. I decided to check out the Lexus ct200h and was sold the moment I drove it. I'm getting 45 mpg and have plenty of power and luxury. I was treated like a king at Lexus."

"This is the first new car we have bought in the last 10 years, and based on the first two weeks of owning it, it will definitely be our car for the next 10 plus. The fuel economy has exceeded our expectations at 45mpg, while the interior finishes and features are what we had expected from Lexus. We also appreciate the ability to switch the car from eco mode to sport when the mode arises, which makes the car not only economical but fun to drive. We are already considering replacing our 10 year old car next year, and can?t wait to see what the 2013 CT has to offer."

"I have traded- in my 2011 Avalon for this 2012 CT200h Premium a week ago. It's time to save some $$ on fuel. I was driving with Sport Mode most the time and still got 45 mpg. The sound system is great for the size of this car. I am very happy with it !"

"I traded in my Volvo S80 (V8) for the Lexus with the intention to save alot on driving. I have been more than pleasantly suprised. The car is an absolute joy to drive. It takes a little getting used to in regards to maximizing gas mileage, but I have been averaging over 40 mpg. And on a few days, I have average well over 50mpg. That is frankly incredible! The sport mode is awesome when fun is the game and Eco is there to save the dollars!!!!! Frankly, the car is small, but I knew it when I bought it. It is great and I would give it back even if they paid me double! LOVE IT!!!!!!!"

"I just purchased a used 2012 CT and I Love, Love, Love this car. Took it on a 1,000 trip the next week and spend $35 on gas! Two adults and a child and we were all comfortable. Not sluggish at all especially in "Sport" mode. The interior is not as elegant as other Lexus products and I should have upgraded to Premium package for leather, 6CD changer even though I did not need the Nav system. Love the hands free bluetooth, heated seats, sun roof and keyless access. I've owned an SC300, RX300 and an RX330 now the CT. Don't miss hauling around a large vehicle behind me anymore. Go ahead, take the leap, get the CT !"

"Three years ago, I bought a used 2006 Prius on ebay with the intent of reselling it. Coming home I got 53 miles per gallon. So I begain rethinking what I would do. I sold my old Isuzu Trooper and drove the Prius for the next two years. Sold it in the summer of 2011 with the intention of buying a CT200h. Only problem was the four month wait, so I bought a new Prius. It is an excellent vehicle. However, when compared to the CT, it isn't nearly as much car. The local Lexus dealership offered an extremely attractive trade for a new 2012 Premium CT200h, so I bought it. This new vehicle is smaller than the Prius but is so much more vehicle. It handles like a sports car, rides like a dream and is quiet as a tomb. The distinctive looks also set you apart from the image of the "green movement Prius owners". I am averaging 45 mpg in my combination city/highway driving. This is about 2 mpg less than the Prius, but the difference in the driving experience is more than worth it. Is the extra cost of the Lexus worth it? As with most things in life, you get what you pay for. This will be the best money you ever spent."

Very disappointed it being a Lexus and all

"I've had my Lexus about three weeks now, and overall I am very disappointed with a car in this price range. What drew me to the CT200 was the exterior styling but now that I've driven it about 1,500 miles I'm noticing the drawbacks. The interior is quite cramped, the back seat room is very small and there is no cup holders for the back seat. The driver seat has the 8 way power adjustment and the passenger seat has only a two way manual seat (definitely not Lexus stadard). The overall drive is very rough and there is a lot of road noise, something I didn't pick up on during the test drive. This car has the premium sound package, but it is far from sounding premium. The radio looks old school, those that I have seen in the 80's. The stearing wheel controls lack options for the radio, only does volume and changing preset channels. To me owning a Lexus means owning a high quality drive experience and the CT200h did not meet the Lexus standard. If I had not already known I was driving a Lexus I would think that I was driving a much lower priced vehicle. The savings in gas mileage is not much compared to other cars in this size class and definitely does not make up for the difference is overall cost. I guess I got caught up in having a "stylish" hybrid that I forgot about function. The performance of the car is very good for a hybid. Put it in sport mode and the throttle response is much better, the engine and electric motor work in unison for maximum acceleration and the handling improves even more, however the gas miliage dips quite a bit. I went from averaging 44 MPG driving very conservatively to about 37 MPG driving more aggressively. Overall I expected more for my money."

"I have a 2011 CT. My wife drove a 2009 350CLK 75 miles a day and it drank premium. Full set of tyres every 20K, full set of pads and rotors at 40K, replaced cyl head at 41K. While her car was in the shop she drove my CT for a week to work. As soon as her Mercedes was out of the shop she traded it in for a new 2012 CT. On her cross Silicon Valley trip every day she is getting almost 50mpg, in comfort with the confidence she wont be heading to the shop constatnly for repairs. Our CT's are comfortable, quiet, handle very well and we feel safe in them. m only complaint is I dont like the sunvisors, they are pretty much worthless. In sport mode it scoots. go buy one. as for those that complain about expecting more from Lexus, there is only so much you can do with a compact vehicle. I feel Lexus squeezed al they could out of it."

"This car far exceeds all of expectations in terms of handling, fit and finish and comfort. Where the CT200h has really blown me away is with the mileage. The window sticker reflected 40/43 but I am averaging 49-51!!"
