"unlike some other reviewers I have owned one for the past 5 years! Can't beat a Porsched or Corvette....let me enlighten you it is not the car! It is the driver!! Car is pure fun on wheels! It is raw but the feedback you get from it, I did not get from any of the Ferraris that I owned or own today! This car it is in a league of its on when it comes to grins!!! I get more compliments on the Lotus than 599! That is the difference! At all the car shows that I have attended I was more questions and won more trophys than any other exotic costing 5X more~ Again it is raw, pure sports car! It does not have CC or PS.......just the basics AC! Reliability, well it has a toyota sourced engine which should pretty much make it bullet proof! Repairs should be by far cheaper than any other luxury sports car! I highly recommend that you take a drive before listening to someone that just read "Car and driver"!!"

"LOTUS...The most overlooked SuperCar on the road. A very specialized Exotic, $30,000 less than a 911 Porsche, and twice the fun. Raw, pure power fun. Excellent as a second, weekend, or summer car more so than as a daily driver. If you are passionate about driving, this car is for you. If you want a car to do grocery shopping, it isn't. Creature comforts are minimalistic in all Lotus, and the Exige is no exception. This is an enthusiast's car for enthusiasts, so if you are looking for GT amenties, the Lotus wasn't made for you. If you want the most FUN that you've ever had in a car, a smile brought to your face, the adrenaline rush of parachuting without leaving the ground.....the Lotus is for you, and for your lucky passenger. I've been driving for over 50 years, and without the doubt, the Lotus is the most satisfying ride I've ever owned. See Lotus, Experience Lotus, DRIVE Lotus and you will fall in love. Just for the passion. This car is all about driving, not about the mechanics of getting from place to place. If your dream of getting a $500,000 Ferrari is beyond your reach, the Lotus will do just fine, and fulfill all those fantasies."

"Pure performance car. Do not buy this car if you are a luxury lover. If you want the best handling and racing potential from a car you have found it. This car is on par with cars worth $200,000 more than itself."

"They try to sell this car on the basis that it's a "track car". For over 70k, this car is a total dog. Price-wise, The Lotus Exige competes with cars like the Porsche Boxter, Nissan GTR, and Corvette Z06 but can't beat any of these cars on the track. What's worse is the fact that while the competitors can be driven comfortably home from the track, the Lotus is a complete pain to drive on or off the track."
