"Having owned 3 generations of SL's I keep coming back to the R129 as a great value, impressive performance, and better quality than the new ones albeit doesnt have all the new drivers aids and entertainment options. Currently owning a 40K mile 2002 SL500 Silver Arrow edition with ultra rare Pano top"

"While driving down the street, other SL owners look at my car and they know something is different. They haven't seen one like this, and they can't put their finger on why this SL is so different, but they love it! It is different enough to set itself aside as a real eye catcher. My wife drives this car and she absolutely loves the ride and the prestige it provides. The color, the hard top on or off, it looks great, and accented by the wheels!"

"First, I should admit I've had this car for a month. Therefore the reason for not five stars in every category. Just a few unknowns. But my expectations are high. I had a Chrys.Crossfire and traded up. Looked at 04 500sl with hardtop roof but really liked the uniqueness of the arrow. It's a dream to drive. You don't even notice how fast it is because the engine is smooth with great sync on the auto trans. Very comfy and luxury on interior. Well done. Solid and well built like my wagons and sedans by MB."

"ROCK SOLID AND DEPENDABLE !....BOUGHT WITH 16,000 MILES, "SILVER ARROW" EDITION IN CLOSE TO SHOWROOM CONDITION...OBVIOUSLY "BABIED" FROM DAY ONE........RIDES GREAT AND HANDLES LIKE ITS ON RAILS....DECEPTIVELY NIMBLE AND SOLID FEELING......NO SHAKES,RATTLES OR SQUEAKS....DECENT FUEL MILEAGE AND VERY SMOOTH ON THE OPEN ROAD......WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE WANTING A QUALITY SPORTS CAR WITH MERCEDES QUALITY AS WELL. I DROVE A NEW 500SL PRIOR TO PURCHASING THIS CAR, AND CAN HONESTLY SAY THIS 2002 MODEL FEELS MORE SOLIDLY MADE..... THE OVERALL QUALITY OF FIT,RIDE AND WORKMANSHIP WAS OUTSTANDING.I DO NOT REGRET MY DECISION TO PUCHASE IN ANY WAY !"
