"I bought my 2004 Mercury Monterey van in 2005 with less than 2,000 miles on it. I've had it five years now without a glitch. It has proven to be built extremely solid and it drives and handles very similar to a car. Power from the 4.2 is just right especially with great torque to get it going. The paint and interior have remained very nice even with daily use and being parked outdoors. Yes, I'd like it to get better gas mileage but it is not bad by any means considering it's capacity to carry and tow. One thing I did modify was the addition of AirLift air springs in back... I constantly carry 400 lbs in the van and often tow and the ability to adjust the back height was a nice addition. Why the original owner traded it in with such low miles remains a mystery as it has proven to be an excellent vehicle in every way."

"this van is the best i get 26 mpg which is over what the sticker markets and this car is pretty quiet quiet enough to not wake our twins the room in this car is amazing we load it up to the gills with stuff or people and they are all comfortable we have recomended this car to our friends and as a result next time when they went to buy a car they test drove the monterey home you should really look into buying this car its extremely reliable and the torque is amazing 266lb feet the car is pretty fast for only having 201 horse power like i said you should look into buying this car!"
