"I bought at a silver 2004 Eclipse RS with 52,000 miles on it in 2009. This was my first car, I couldn't have asked for a better one. Fast forward to 2013. I have had no problems whatsoever with this car. Of course, I've had to replace the blinker lights a few times, but that's it. It accelerates fast and hugs curves in the road nicely. It feels heavy to drive (which is nice because it feels like you have some power beneath and you're trapped in a tin can), but goes fast at the same time. I have a V4 engine, but most of my friends believe it is a V6, that's how well it accelerates. The paint on my car looks awesome. I kept it outside for 7 months while I lived in Florida, and the damage the sun did was yellow the headlights, but they are still crystal clear. Whenever I wax it, people cannot believe that the paint job on my car is almost 10 years old. My interior has held up well also. The drivers seat is starting to get a few tears in it, but other than that everything still looks brand new. This car is an amazing first car that is fun to drive and affordable. LOVE IT!"

"Bought a 2003 GT about 4 months ago. I absolutely love driving this car. Took it on a 12 hour trip and I was comfy the entire way. Everybody loves how the car looks and love going for rides in it. Although I do enjoy it, it does seem to have problems. Had to replace the flex pipe for the exhaust, the transmission is starting to slip, it gets 19mpg on premium (kinda my fault), it leaks through the trunk, and I had to replace some suspension stabilizers in the back. Like the title says though, I believe it's worth the repairs. I plan on adding a lot of things to it. So I hope I have it a long time! I would say if you're looking to buy one of these, make sure you get one with under 75k miles on it."

"We just bought one for my husband. Only dislike is the paint. Not enough gloss or metallic fleck to hide dings and scratches. Ours is the V6 model so power is great . Responsive. Good on gas. ( back seat very small)."

"Great "fun car" for weekend getaways or drives on the country. Affordable sports car fun but not a serious everyday car....serious space limitations but what do you expect in a convertable?"

"its a quick little car. i currently own a 2001 gt manual. i bought it last fall and have had it for about six months. already i had to replace the clutch, belt, motor mounts, front and back tail light, clock fuse (3 times), (bent rim, which was my own fault), it still has a water leak coming from the moon roof and two bad 02 sensors. if you don't mind consistently fixing cars then this car is for you. yes it is pretty fast (about a 15 flat in the 1/4 mile) but i wouldn't pay anymore than 5k for one of these. the interior is alright but not as nice as the new ones (but that's like any car). it's interior is about similar quality of an 02 mustang. CHECK THIS CAR ALL OVER BEFORE YOU BUY IT."

"My family owned this car for nearly 6 years; I learned to drive on it, and my mom used it to get to and from work. We also used to take it on road trips when three or less people were going. It's a great car, as long as you don't get stuffed into the back seat! When my parents bought the car, I was 10 and my brother was 7, so we both fit into the back seat easily, but when I was 16 and my brother was 13, things started to get real. We'd fight over who got the front seat on the way home from school, or if we both got stuck in the back, we'd argue over who had to sit behind my mom because she always put her seat as far back as it would go, leaving about 2 inches of leg room. BUT the car was extremely safe: we got hit three times, and every time all it needed was a new bumper (each time was a good old rear-ending). There was never any frame damage or lasting problems, even when we were hit by a Chevy Tahoe, which was easily twice the height of our car and plowed right into the trunk. This is a seriously resilient car: it doesn't show scratches or bumps easily, and the replacement parts are still widely carried. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is a new driver, single, or has 2 or less small children. I loved this car, and I was sad to see it go when we moved."
