"I wanted something reliable that got good mileage and had enough storage room for a family of three to make frequent interstate trips. Also, my husband is 6'5", which presents its own challenge. The Altima is comfortable for both of us to drive, all of us to ride in, and it's plenty zippy for the mileage. I love it."

"bought the car for a daily driver and haven't been disappointed yet...very sharp looking car with great gas mileage...the CVT tranny takes some getting used to but aside from that I'm liking it!!"

"purchased car used 35,300 miles. We have driven the car for a month now. have had no trouble with the car. excellent mpg. This is our first Nissan purchase. We will purchase another Nissan. The interior led lighting on the gauges is an excellent touch, keeps me from speeding. once inside the vehicle and a look around you see all the curtain side air bags on the passenger and driver sides and you know you are in a Safe Vehicle."

"overall, car is great, however be aware of premature wear of interior weather stripping around the front doors where the doors come in contact with the door frame. The material will eventually wear out. My driver side strip wore out with less than 12,000 miles on the car. It was replaced under warranty, but now the replacement strip is wearing out and the car has only 17.000 miles on it. The dealership says I will have to replace it at my expense. It is a design flaw and I proved it to the dealership, but they insist it is not a Nissan problem! All Altima 4 door models since 2007 have this defect."

"Car has a irritating engine knock at low speed. Nissan thinks I should live with it! I will, till the 2012 autos come out!"

"I bought a 2010 2.5S Altima as a replacement for my daily commuter (2008 Mazda3). Idid not expect it to be as much fun to drive as the superb 3 but was pleasently surprised. Not only it addressed the only issue I had with 3 i.e. Long-drive comfort but is quite peppy and handles well. The ride is so comfy that still after 7 months of daily commute, i ame pleasently surprised at times - it is after all a $18K car not a luxury car. Some downsides or minus points (to me) are: 1. The 3rd brake light is HUGE and unsightly distraction in rear view mirror. C'mon, this is 2011, you have technology to make it slim and stylish! 2. The CVT does seems to make engine sound noisy when pushing it. It is more because how we are used to the pitch of an engine with a conventional transmission. 3. Speakers in this base model are of VERY poor quality. Maybe i got used to the great speakers Mazda put in even base 3 but these seems to be made out of toilet paper - espacially when playing bass. Once i got over lack of audio controls on steering wheel (they were standard on even base Mazda3) and the Huge 3rd brake light (can't ever forgive 'em for those s****y speakers) - it became just about theperfct sedan. You can see all the minus points are nit-picking mostly, well it is THAT good. Comfort, ride, handlng, sportiness, safety, rominess, and reliability at such a reasonable price makes this car... Just about perfect buy."

"Got myself a third Altima and I am a ahppy customer again. I had 2001 (my daughter drives today), 2007 (my wife totaled this winter) and my latest 2010. Bough it used with 30k miles from rental company and had no issues thus far. I get 32.4 MPG according Nissan computer, admittedly mostly highway driving (40.8 MPH awg on computer)."

"I owned a 2008 Nissan Sentra previously and wanted something with more room and comfort. I test drove an Altima S with the 2.5. I was impressed at how smooth this car drove and handled as well as the power produced from a 4 cylinder motor. I drive 65 miles per day with slight grades thoughout and found that the motor doesn't labor a bit on the open road and has plenty of power when passing. I have the all black interior which is like climbing into a Stealth Fighter. I can't think of anything I don't like about this car."
