Consumer Reviews
"The 2013 Nissan Altima feels like a luxury car without the luxury price tag. It is comparable to the Camry in performance and features and handles the road well. The intelligent key fob and engine start button are nice to have, but the car cannot run using just the actual key. Also, the windows and radio cannot be operated without turning the engine on. There is a electronic humming noise at low speed, which is normal. And the "mileage to fill up" feature is not accurate. When I first got the car, I got about 2-4 actual miles for every mile on the "mileage to fill up". Now, I'm getting about 1 mile or less. However, the overall gas mileage is still good, averaging about 30 mpg or over."

"After having the car for a month and bringing it to the dealer three times, and having no luck with Nissan Corporate, I wish I bought a different car. Like so many others, this car has a loud, annoying, pulsating, whistling sound at low speeds. The tech said it was normal and that I have sensitive hearing. This noise has taken away all driving pleasure. If I had heard this sound during the test drive, I wouldn't have bought the car!!!"

"seat are comfortable needs better lumbar support. Seems cheaply designed on the interior amd so far I do not get the milege the car boasts of. I am currently getting only 3mpg more then my buick regal I traded in for it but wish I hadn't. It does have better pick up for a 4 cyc then the Buick had so I like that better."

"I have 2.5 SL bought new. Like other post growls low rpm. Looks nice rides above average. No issues at this time other than highway mileage dropped from 36.5 to 31.5 HWY running the same route to work and back. disappointed does not get close to mileage stated after breakin. To me for these kind of prices I don't feel the quality matches. I did buy this over the camry. CVT performs great HWY not so much city."

"2.5 S, over a month of ownership and over 2,000 miles. This is the replacement for our dependable but recall prone (28 recalls during ownership) 12 year-old minivan. PROS: Good ride, comfy seats, large trunk, excellent highway gas mileage (39 mpg driving a steady 70 mph), quiet interior at speed, warms up quickly in very cold weather, stability and traction control nice during inclement weather, good pedal/seat/wheel relationship, remote start is nice to have, long range for key fob, good ingress/egress both front and rear. CONS: Lousy city/urban gas mileage (25 mpg), speakers aren't great, if the front seats are slid far back your elbow hits the B-pillar. This is the first vehicle I've had with a CVT. If driven with a gentle throttle foot, WOW, this is nice. But when getting on and off the gas hard, the tranny seems to get a bit confused and either hangs onto rev for quite a while or drops revs and then rebounds up. Not a problem, just a bit different compared to what I am accustomed. May just be the computer trying to figure me out. We do not have the lurching as others have noted, nor do we have the booming engine noise at low rpm. Speed through the main road in town is 30 mph and the engine is barely turning over 1250 rpm and all we have is smooth sailing. We did have a loud power steering pump, but that went away after the first 1,000 miles; the only unusual noise we have is a high pitched whine (like a turbocharger winding down) for a few seconds after the engine is turned off. The only explanation I have is this might be the high-pressure pump for the transmission. The only other concern I have is our car is an August build. According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), structural changes have been made already during this model year starting with the November and later builds (http://www.iihs.org/ratings/rating.aspx?id=1738&seriesid=280). I don't know what this means other than a change was made and the IIHS recommends the Altima as a top safety pick only after November builds, but one may want to check the build date (driver side door jam) and get the November and later builds. Overall, we love the ride, seats, handling (kind of sports car like), overall fuel economy, looks, and the quiet cabin. We looked at over 20 different cars and were down to this and the Accord and chose the Altima. I would recommend this car, noting the build date."

"Poor delivery on the 2010 car we bought. The car was not detailed as promised. They gave us a coupon to get the car detailed ourselves. Who has time? We didn't return to purchase a 2013 from this dealer. Not angry, but taking our business somewhere else."
