"I purchased my 2013 Nissan Altima 2.5SL on January 9th. I now have 1400 miles on the car and am quite disappointed. The appearance, ride, comfort ,fit and finish are exceptional. The Bose radio is not at all what they make it out to be. This is all but overshadowed by very poor performance. The CVT transmission in this car is terrible. Nissan should have left well enough alone instead of trying to squeeze every MPG out of this wonderful car at the cost of very poor performance. The car lugs, vibrates and howls at slow acceleration of around 1500 RPMS. If you test drive this vehicle please, please, for your own benefit, look out for this problem. It is very annoying and to date Nissan has no fix. I have had the car in for service 3X in 1400 miles and have been told that they don't recognize the problem to that is characteristic of a 4 CYL with a CVT, to driving other new Altima's on the lot and they all do the same thing. The reason they all do the same thing is that this is a MANUFACTURERS MECHANICAL FLAW and Nissan is very much aware of it. I had the car in for service once again today and the CVT was reprogrammed on direction of Nissan engineers which accomplished nothing. The only positive thing that has become of this issue is Nissan is finally acknowledging the problem and they have assigned a Claim# and Field Engineer to my complaints. A car is a big investment and I only hope all of us 2013 Altima owners are not left out in the cold. I would strongly recommend looking at other makes of cars until this is resolved, IF EVER."

"I love the new body style and the MPG (Nissan states 38 - but I have only found 33 to be standard) I spent 30k out the door (including tax/title & licensing) and it is fully loaded... The only problem I have with the car is a drifting issue, I am taking it in soon to see if its normal but I have been told its because of the light weight of the car (MPG pro/con) driving down the highway at 80 mph is kinda scary when a slight breeze will blow you into another lane! I will post again after visit to dealer..."

"I've been driving my 2013 Nissan Altima for 5 months. I really like the comfort and style of the vehicle. I was extremely disappointed when I started hearing a loud engine noise upon acceleration. I was told by the dealer that they are currently unable to fix the issue until Nissan has a fix for the for the problem. The dealer was told by Nissan that there are other customers experiencing the same problem and they are working on it. It's frustrating to drive a rather new vehicle and experience this issue. The car sounds like a go cart. This is something that anyone in the market for a new car should be aware of."

"It's an excellent car. I have zero issues but great mpg of 33 overall, 41 on the highway. Countless comments are saying the same thing that the car is quiet and feels luxurious."

"Test drove both cars, the 2013 Accord EX and Altima SV. Both cars have similar features. I Ended up buying the Altima SV for it's quiet, smooth, and quick acceleration. The Accord EX was overpriced by around $2000 compared to the Altima SV and the Accord is still very loud from its engine noise, although the EX has moonroof and side view camera."

"My Nissan Altima is the fifth Nissan I have owned in my 35 years of driving. I am extremely satisfied with the performance of this car. It really looks and feels like a luxury vehicle but not at the luxury price. The moon roof, navigation system, Bluetooth technology, and back up camera have already spoiled me. Thanks Nissan!"

"The 2013 Nissan Altima feels like a luxury car without the luxury price tag. It is comparable to the Camry in performance and features and handles the road well. The intelligent key fob and engine start button are nice to have, but the car cannot run using just the actual key. Also, the windows and radio cannot be operated without turning the engine on. There is a electronic humming noise at low speed, which is normal. And the "mileage to fill up" feature is not accurate. When I first got the car, I got about 2-4 actual miles for every mile on the "mileage to fill up". Now, I'm getting about 1 mile or less. However, the overall gas mileage is still good, averaging about 30 mpg or over."

"After having the car for a month and bringing it to the dealer three times, and having no luck with Nissan Corporate, I wish I bought a different car. Like so many others, this car has a loud, annoying, pulsating, whistling sound at low speeds. The tech said it was normal and that I have sensitive hearing. This noise has taken away all driving pleasure. If I had heard this sound during the test drive, I wouldn't have bought the car!!!"
