"well I used to love this car until it snowed. If there is more than an inch of snow this car is useless. I would like this car if I lived somewhere what it never snowed. The only other thing that I don't like about the car is the electric throttle. It doesn't always do what you tell it to when you tell it to. Which is sometimes scary when pulling out into heavy traffic or trying to pass some one on a two lane highway. I don't think I'll buy another car without a cable throttle unless it is an electric car. But other than all that it is a great car, comfortable, fast, and reliable."

"I owned a 2004 Nissan Maxima SL for several years and replaced it with a 2007 Maxima SL. I really enjoyed my 2004, and Nissan made improvements to just about all of the areas that I wished for, especially the seats. Hard cornering in an 04 left the driver sliding-around in the seat, but the 2007 Maxima has significantly improved seat bolsters! My 07 is loaded, and the ride is hands-down better than most luxury-brand cars. I think the interior also features styling that is still advanced compared to other brands. The intelligent key is also a real nice feature. My only complaints (minor) are that I wish Nissan had made the trunk cargo-netting standard, and I wish they had incorporated more high-end styled (18") alloy wheels (like the SE, but better) than what came with the car. That said, the 2007 Nissan Maxima SL is an incredible car for the money! I would have preferred a standard automatic, but the CVT seems to work just fine and delivers very brisk performance. With a recently extended Nissan OEM transferable 10 year/120,000 mile powertrain warranty on the CVT, this car has a lot to offer."

"This is my 4th Maxima (I still drive my 1999 daily as well!) and for the money versus value, you would be hard pressed to match it dollar for dollar. One of the best engines ever produced, reliable, beautiful, comfortable, reasonable ownership costs (like insurance), decent mileage without driving a 'toy' car, FUN to drive - everything you want in a car!"

"I just bought a 2007 Maxima SE and I must say it is the best car I ever owned. I have owned GM all my life but it was time for change and I am glad I did. I recommend if you are looking for great performance, and a head turner. This is the vehicle to purchase without regets."

Leather Seat Woes

"I love the car. Only complaint is the leather seats. This is the first car I have ever had with leather, and it was a pricey option. Inside of 9 months the leather on the drivers seat edge is worn and cracking. Nissan says it is normal wear. If leather seat are normally supposed to wear and split in under a year this is a new concept for me. No luck with customer service, they were abrupt and no way to appeal. I am disappointed and angry that I spent this amount of money and Nissan will not replace a seat to stand behind their product while still under warranty."

"I've had Maximas since 1983 & they have always performed well. In addition the service has been excellent, not only from the dealership but from the factory as well. Their styling is ahead of most other brands. I feel that the value for the money is the best in the business for this category. I have owned the Toyota Camry previously & liked the car very much but when I compared the Maxima to the comparable Camry & Avalon I felt that the Maxima gave you far more. One of the features was the folding side view mirrors. Neither Toyota or Avalon offered them."

"Man, first of all I traded in my 05 Nissan Titan due to gas prices, and I needed a car that would not be a step down for me, being that the Titan is a really nice truck. This Maxima ain't nothing but the truth! Beautiful design and build quality, lots of passing power, and the ride is extremely quiet. I bought the base SE model radiant silver with matching radiant silver interior and it turns heads. My parents are faithful Acura owners/drivers and compared to the 07 TL, you get much more car with the Maxima, even with the base model. I test drove a Mercedes C class and also BMW 330i before trying out the Maxima, and the Maxima won me over even with those higher priced supposedly luxury cars. Choose a Maxima and you'll be very proud."

Former Accord and Avalon Owner

"I did a ton of research and drove the Acura TL, Avalon, Camry and Accord before choosing the 2007 Maxima SE. I was looking for a cool big safe family car with some sports-car fun. I've owned lots of Accords, and an Avalon. The Maxima is bigger than the Accord and Acura TL, but a little smaller than Avalon. From the driver perspective, the Acura TL and the Maxima feel pretty darn similar. But I got my base Maxima SE for less than $27K out the door. The Acura TL would have been at least $4K more. The Maxima basically gives you an Acura TL at the price of the Accord V6. Love about it: Styling, comfort, handling, performance, audio system, convenience. This car is a blast to drive. Gobs of passing power, and the CVT is just always in exactly the right gear. Tons of grip, flat cornering, precise yet quick steering, great brakes. The car always feels very planted and stable. The CVT is great in stop-and-go traffic since you're never caught flat-footed, and you don't feel the tranny shifting up and down over and over. The CVT is especially awesome in corners, as the vehicle dynamics are not upset by gear changes. The interior space is excellent (I'm 6'4") and the trunk room is ample. Rear seat has plenty of room for tall passengers, and is comfortable for long trips and is very quiet. Road noise and harshness is well suppressed, despite the aggressive tires. There are lots of cool features that Nissan does not seem to advertise very well, such as the tire inflation monitoring system, how cool the 'smart key' is, and a long list of standard features like the fog lights, auto-dimming rear view mirror, tilt and telescope wheel, leather-wrapped steering wheel, cornering lights, 18" alloy wheels, traction control, split folding rear seats, and rear spoiler. I got the 'Base' stereo which is an eight-speaker single CD-player with Aux input. Sounds great and my ipod plugs right into the aux. Minor gripes: 1) Torque steer? You bet. 2) Rear visibility & turning circle: Not the best. So if you need the space of the Avalon, the performance and handling of the Acura TL, and the price tag of the Accord, the Maxima is the ticket."
