"I bought my Murano new in 2006. I loved this vehicle for the first 3 years. After three years of ownership, and out of warranty, the problems started. The drivers seat track broke. A common problem with Muranos. I was able to get Nissan to cover this. Other problems include broken gas gauge, new radiator, motor mounts, pcv boot, broken heat shield and problems pumping gas into tank. Total bill for repairs $5,000. These problems are not unique to me. If you go to any Murano forum, you will find the same complaints. My Murano runs great now and it is paid off. At this point I don't know if I should get rid of it, because it is a great car when it is running right. If you are considering one, make sure the above mentioned items have been addressed before you buy it."

"I have had my Murano for 3 years. I bought a used 2006 SL and couldn't be happier. The only thing different about this car was getting used to the CVT transmission....I got used to it and now love it. All of the issues on these reviews I have not expirienced. I have no complaints, it was an excellent choice for me to get a luxurious car without the huge pricetag."

"This car started off great. I had an SL with all the features except navigation. Once the warranty expired the car stopped working. It would shut down and not restart. Then I did a tune-up, a fuel vacum, changed the gasket and other things. The car would work again and something else would hapoen. I loved this car and I am very unhappy that I could not return to Nissan. They should give a longer warranty for these problems. I also had problems with the driver's seat track and the AWD button fell in the dash."

"I am kind of person who keep replacing cars every year.So i try buying couple years old reliable cars. This is an upgrade from rsx.So far i am very satisfied with this car.The mpg is little annoying but cannot expect more from SUVs.I am getting 18/24.If the air pressure is below 31 (even one tire) i get 15 around in city.Highway consistently i get 24.as i use regular so that's fine for me. Regarding performance,it exceed my expectation. The interior is very nice.the key less entry and start is my favorite feature. I always compared this to my 2003 X5 (20034.4).There are many feature which are nicer in murano then X5.But i always felt that X5 has nicer road grip and view. Overall i am happy with this car."

"Purchased a 2006 SL and liked the room, features, and style. There is a bad blind spot when changing lanes so be careful. I loved the vehicle until the warranty ran out and then all the problems started. First the driver's sun visor broke ($500), caliper locked up at 59k miles ($725), and then the seat track broke on the driver's seat at 59K miles ($1,225 Nissan finally agreed to pay for it after I called everyone at corporate office). I had a SL loaded with every option and you would not expect to have these types of issues from a vehicle with a $38,000 price tag. I was very disappointed and once the seat track was repaired I traded it for 2010 Toyota Highlander SE and could not be happier. This makes my 5th Toyota/Lexus purchase and would recommend Toyota over Nissan any day of the week."

"The car handles great, very powerful and looks great. Everything you would expect except for the advertised gas consumption. 19 city??? I've been watching the fuel econ screen and trying to drive in a manor that will give me better gas milage... I can't seem to get it over 14.5 miles per gallon. Also, this may be an oddity... but I pushed down the AWD Lock and if fell through the console?? Other wise... I love it."
