"After looking at Muranos for several months, finally pulled the trigger on an base model. I've had the car less than a month, so this review is the impression so far. Not a lot of bells and whistles, but still has many of the basics that make the Murano a sound choice. It handles great, the best car in the snow that I've ever had. It corners well, feels luxurious and is a very quiet car. The rear visibility is limited, so I suggest buying a model with the back up camera. I would make this decision again and have recommended this car to others. I will most likely upgrade to a more recent year and include more creature comforts in the next one."

"a lot of interior room, smooth ride, gas mileage not so good (have to give somewhere) now that the snow has started we are not concerned about visibility--we are happy with the Murano"

"My wife bought this 2009 used, from the Nissan dealer, and got a pretty good deal on it. This thing is the most comfortable car she's ever had, especially helpful since we both have back problems. The interior finish (leather seating), especially the driver's seat with its multiple power adjustments is first class. Lots of legroom in front and in back, with plenty of cargo space in the rear. The backup camera is a nice added feature. The twin moon roofs are a bit strange, but we can live with that. I only rate Performance as four stars due to the requirement to use premium gas. We're getting 23+ mph on the highway (according to the digital readout), which is pretty darned good for a big SUV like this is. For a larger vehicle, the Murano handles pretty well. Steering is firm, suspension is surprisingly car-like for a vehicle of its size and weight. Not at all tiring to drive, but you still have a good feel for the road. Exterior design looks like every other SUV in its class, but it certainly isn't ugly. Fit and finish are Japanese quality -- and these guys are fanatics about putting out a quality product, regardless of whether it was built here or there. It's too soon to comment on reliability, but we expect that it will follow Nissan's long history of building solid stuff. Overall, I wish we had purchased one of these earlier. It's a big improvement over the Mercedes and Hondas that she was driving before."

"Overall, I can live with this car, although I have only had it a couple of months. The brakes started to squeak the very next week after purchase and a week later the interior cover to sunroof wouldn't roll back properly. In addition to the interior feeling a bit less solid than I had originally thought, this made for a bit of buyers remorse. So, all that being shared it is a nice car. I'm 5'3 and would appreciate being a few inches taller to reach into trunk space, also would make for better driver seating. Its a sporty drive compared to my lexus, but the murano interior simply doesn't hold a candle to the interior quality of lexus."

"This is a second generation Murano we own and honestly, it's the worst vehicle I have ever owned. Within two years, the inside door panel has started to rust and had to be fixed/painted twice because the Authorized Nissan Bodyshop has done a poor job the first time (under warranty). Tire pressure valves broke on two wheels, unabling air fill-up and had to be changed out by the dealer (under warranty). When we reached a little over 31K miles on the vehicle, we started to hear a thumping noise from the right front tire at speeds of over 40-45 mps. Tire was inspected by a local dealership and nothing was found. We had to buy a new tire ourselves because we got tired trying to proof continues issues with our car. The most recent problem involves the electrical wiring, specifically the headlight bulb sockets/connectors, which started to melt (warranty denied by Nissan / fixed and paid for by me)."

"Bought this used car in the summer. Had a choice between a dark grey cloth interior and a light tan leather interior, and we chose the leather. Feels very luxurious inside. This SL also has heated seats, foglights, twin sunroofs, and a bunch of other little extras that make this car great. Decent pick up and it def. rides well on the highway; decent gas mileage too (22 MPG+). Good for transporting at least 4 people and plenty of room in the back for 2 big suitcases (or 2 bails of hay) and then some. Space was our main concern when shopping for a SUV and this has it."

"First, it is an LE model and it is my wife's car. Second, for the price range, there is nothing out there that even comes close. Last, it was the only vehicle I felt that was both very safe and extremely dependable for my wife to drive - and me, when she lets me!"

"This is the most fun I have had driving a vehicle since the early 80's. There isn't anything I don't like about this Murano, except that it requires premium gas. And it is a little hard to see out the back window when backing up, but a have a nifty rear camera to help me out."
