"This is our second Nissan Murano, our first murano was 2005 SL AWD- also a truely nice car. We have roughly 2000- 2500 miles on it so far and just like the '05 it's very nice. I really like the fact that you can get so many options on the SL AWD now that was not available unless you got the LE AWD- that is very expensive! I do wish that the wood trim was available on the SL level as well, though. My wife is the regular driver of the Murano as well as the previous Murano, she said that she would only like to have another new body styled Murano, RX350, or a very over priced MDX ( which we like very much, but the price!). THe gas mileage is very good- have not taken on a long trip to check highway mileage, but only city mileage is 18-20 MPG! Would definately own another Nissan!"

"Love the Murano, first time with the Nav, and it is great. The UI could be better. and the nav should offer re-routing on the front map page."

"I brought this car as a replacement for my 2004 which was demolished by a deer. The 2004 after 7.5 years held 40% of its value when it was totaled. The 2012 is an updated version of the SUV. It's fun to drive, has excellent pickup and has good hauling capacity. The updated dash is a little confusing, because of all of the features and personal setting at your disposal (keep the manual handy). The power cloth seats are comfortable and provide excellent back seat riding for my 6'4" son. What I love most about this vehicle is the way it handles. It drives like a car, yet give you lite hauling capacity and is stylish."

"I like my Murano all around. But certainly more enjoyable ride on a highway - CVT is very smooth and V6 gives enough power to pass comfortably. I also can get 20-21 mpg on a highway. In city mpg drops significantly, especially in traffic. The only thing I'd improve - is front door built-in pockets - can hardly fit anything in there."

Nissan 2012 LE Platinum Murano

"This 2012 Murano has just passed 1,000 miles on the odometer, in one month since purchase. My prior Murano was a 2003 SL purchased new. I did not shop at all - due to the positive and proven 9 year experience with my 2003, and the features that were critical to our requirements (power adjustable passenger seat, HID Xenon headlamps), I went to the Nissan dealership that I purchased the 2003 from originally and requested the 2012 LE variant (2013 LE seats are further redesigned and unacceptable for my wife's physical needs). I am disappointed with the 2012 as it has been "Americanized" into close resemblance to a Buick mushmobile. The suspension is softer than the 2003, and the steering is not as crisp as my 2003 Murano with 125,000 miles on it. I await aftermarket springs availability to firm up the ride. The 2012 interior has been shrunk - not a tremendous amount but an inch here and there that is noticeable - there is not "quite" the shoulder / hip room of the 2003. The cloth retractable shade for the moonroof is disappointing - you are unable to open the moonroof for ventilation without the shade having to completely retract. That results in full solar heat through the glass, without being able to partially shade the interior and allow just a slit for the air to escape out the roof opening. The adjustable angle of the HID lamp feature is gone with the 2012. The 6-CD changer is gone with the 2012. The lack of temperature display in the center dash area (now is only available directly in front of the driver, and is shrouded from the passenger view) is a bothersome little nit. Yes, the gee-gaws are nice - the backup camera, Bluetooth connectivity, Sirius radio - now that I have them, don't think you can take them away. I have installed aftermarket tow hitch (with 3,500# towing rating) with the Nissan wiring controller. I have recently towed ~ 2,500# of trailer, and the performance of the 2012 is at lest as good as the 2003 (which had the same towing capacity / rating). The additional HP of the 2012 over the 2003 is noticeable. Traction upon acceleration on a street turn (from stop sign to cross street on right) does not have the tire spin of the inboard wheel that the 2003 had. Mileage of 25+ mpg has been recently observed in the 2012, where the 2003 typically came in at 23 mpg (for comparable freeway run). I have downgraded reliability because I have already experienced intermittent failure of the steering wheel controls with less than 500 miles on the odometer. I realize that is just "infant mortality" with so few miles on it, and expect warranty resolution by Nissan. I reserve recommending to a friend - I sold my 2003 to my accountant and felt confident recommending it to him. If the above negatives of the 2012 were corrected, then I would recommend it."

"I went into my new SUV search with no specific make or model in mind. I just wanted to find something that was beautifully stylish, good safety rating and would get me through the deep snows of this coming winter. I test drove the Nissan Murano and knew this was the vehicle for me. Silky smooth CVT shifting, nice strong V6 engine, AWD for the snow and gorgeous interior detailing and exterior design that is sharp looking. I chose the SL trim line with leather seats, moonroof, etc. Plenty of room to haul my dogs around in style and the many other items I move around for my work. It's like this SUV was built for me. The only slight disappointment I have is in the gas mileage being a little on the low side, (currently only at 21) but trade off for the V6 power and AWD it's still acceptable. Best vehicle I've ever owned and will hopefully own it for a long, long time."

"We moved from a Suburban to a Maxima. This was just to drastic. The Maxima was a wonderful toy but did not provide the space and ease of entering and exit. The Murano seems to fit right inbetween the 2 of them. Great gas mil. as well as room and looks. I like the outside styling and the tight feel. It should be one that stays with us for awhile if it is as good as my other 5 Nissans were/are. This is my wifes car I drive a 2005 Titan."

"The Murano like most Nissan products are way over hyped. The Murano has view issues and I am not the first to say that. it rides too much like the Sport version of the old Infiniti FX35 and 45. The lack of a true tilt steering is bothersome for anyone under 5'7. There are other Crossovers and SUV's that are a much better ride and value"
