"Let me first be clear that this is the wife's car. We went together to test drive it and drove it home the very same night. Very nice quality to the interior. Seats are very comfortable. Great visibility out of the greenhouse. She purchased the SL which comes with leather seats. The problem I have is with the CVT. Yes, she does get the "shudder" at low speeds/RPMs, but it is not constant. The CVT is slow to react at acceleration. Not sure what she is getting as far as MPGs. What I do know is she has about 1500 miles on it (purchased in March) and the last couple weeks she has been to the gas station at least two times each week. Her daily commute is about 50 miles a day. Apologize that I don't have more accurate numbers. Drives very "trucky". Some SUVs drive like a car...not this one. We paid $34K out the door, tax, plates, and all. I would recommend the vehicle but wait for the 2014 model year."

2013 Pathfinder So far So Good

"I have had my 2013 Nissan Pathfinder for about three weeks now. So far I love it. Much more room than my Nissan Murano. The ride is very smooth, the engine noise could be quieter. Nissan advertises the Pathfinder to have more efficient fuel economy than previous models. Not sure though why when i fill up, the trip computer says I have 275 miles to an empty tank. My Nissan Murano read most of the time over 400 miles to an empty tank. I know this is calculated on driving speeds, braking, acceleration, etc. but is there some kind of miscalculation? I hope to see this number improve. Other than that, it is a great SUV. We are still getting aquainted with each other."

"My wife and I owned 3 Muranos consecutively but were intrigued by the new Pathfinder. I drove one as a test drive and we loved it. We think of it as basically a larger more capable Murano. In fact we like the Pathfinders interior a little better than the Muranos. I'm 6'1" and have lots of space and comfort. My wife is 5'2" and can easily find a great driving position. The pre programmed seating helps in our SL. Reliability should NOT be a problem as I have owned Nissans for 11 years and never had any major mechanical isues."

"We test drove the 2013 Traverse and the Durango and almost bought one of the two until we drove the pathfinder. I was set on the Traverse and my wife wanted the Durango. Well the Pathfinder won us both over. Very comfortable ride and looks great. We never even considered this vehicle since the old version was not something we though looked very good. So Nissan really did a great job redesigning the new 2013 Pathfinder. Rides so smooth and had all the safety features we were looking for and then some and has plenty of room for the family and friends. Great buy... ."

""Nissan hit the family vehicle mark with the redesigned Pathfinder. We had the following constraints when searching for a new vehicle to replace our 1997 Volvo 850 Wagon: 1) Vehicle Safety, 2) Fit a family of six comfortably, 3) Get good gas mileage, 4) Not be a minivan. We looked at ALL of the mid-sized three-row CUVs on the market. Because the 2013 Pathfinder is a new model we used the recently completed Infinity JX35 crash test results for safety (the cars are very similar in design and are made on the same assembly line in TN). Many models (including most of the premium brands) were knocked-off the list because the third-row did not fit a 6? person without their head hitting the roof. The vehicles that made it through the third-row room filter were the GM (Traverse, Acadia, Enclave family of vehicles), the Toyota Highlander (borderline, headroom in 3rd row), the Honda Pilot, and the Nissan Pathfinder. Of these vehicles the Pathfinder provided the best gas mileage. I believe the key to the high mileage is the CVT. We have the SV model with 4WD and have averaged over 26 mpg on the highway (traveling at 70 mph) and average ~24 mpg driving around our rural town. The car is the quietest car I have ever driven, is extremely comfortable on the road, and has a very solid feel. I have not noticed any of the transmission issues that others have reported. The interior is well designed and practical. Rearview visibility is poor, but the rearview camera alleviates this concern, you do need to keep the camera lens clean in wet or snowy weather (we have driven the vehicle in both.) I would strongly recommend giving this car a hard look if you need a practical 6+ passenger family vehicle with good comfort and mileage. We are looking forward to many years in this vehicle and hope that our initial extremely favorable impression of this car continues.""

Smooth, safe and so fun to drive

"I owned a Pathfinder back in 2002 and loved it. It was certainly more of a stiff, truck oriented ride - but was very well build and appointed - and filled with great features that made you feel comfortable and safe. I feel like Nissan lost their way over the last few years with the Pathfinder - making them more boxy, bigger and less attractive....to the point that I was seriously considering a Murano for this latest purchase. Enter the newly designed Pathfinder for 2013 - and my desire for a Murano went away quickly. This new Pathfinder is an amazing vehicle, built on a rock solid platform that is as safe as any SUV on the road - and filled with luxury features usually left for much more expensive vehicles and brands. My Pathfinder SV - comes with heated leather seats from and back - memory seats in front, satellite radio, backup camera and sonar, easy to access 3rd row seating, and curtain air bags all the way back. The 4 wheel drive is amazing, even during this god awful winter we are having in Boston - and it never so much as slips, never mind skids or loses traction. My family is safe and secure all the way home. As with every Nissan the fit and finish is first class - with gorgeous paint, great stereo and entertainment features (flawless Ipod integration), and hands free bluetooth control of multiple smart phones that make driving this thing a joy from beginning to end. Some of complained about having to stomp on the gas when you are jumping on the highway - and you do have to give it some juice to get up to speed. But once you find that level of pressure, the engine leaps forward and is as fast and powerful as you could ever want. Add to that the 26 MPG and the ability to pull 5000 lbs and you have a truck that dollar for dollar, blows away the competition. Great great car that I am totally in love with. Way to go Nissan."

"Was looking at a Q7 and just couldn't believe the options that were not available for 2013 Q7s cars. The Pathfinder was cheaper, had more options available, and had better gas mileage. Ended up buying the Platinum Premium. So far it's been a great car and was a great price."

It's about, "What You Get For The Money"

"When researching buying a new car, we found that doing your homework really matters here. After test driving and going through extensive specs and different trim levels we found the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder 4X4 with the Platinum trim level to be the overwhelming choice. Nissan has really done their homework when redesigning the Pathfinder. It seams that everything has been adressed from comfort, convenience and performance. This is by far the best all around SUV I have ever owned. I loved the one I bought for my wife so much that 1 month later I bought myself one. If you have heavy hauling to do this is not the vehicle for you, but you can tow up to 5000 lbs. and the interior space is enormous. Also being able to seat up to seven is great and even the back seats, although a little cramped, are fairly comfortable and will accomodate small children with ease while allowing 3 adults in the 2nd row. 2nd row also has seat warmers and the front has heated and cooled seats, 3 settings for each, and even a heated steering wheel. The surround camera is amazing, for those of you that don't think you need it you will find that it is great even if it's just to keep from scraping your wheels on the curb. Needless to say that my wife and I are extremely happy with our Pathfinders but realize that we both gave up premium vehicles to be able to enjoy our rides to work each day and have lots of fun and travel opportunities reguadless of the weather, all while getting the great fuel milage this vehicle offers. I hope this helps with your decision making. Garry"
