Updated for 2007 with a more conventional instrument panel, Nissan's Quest receives some more changes for 2008. Side-impact airbags for the front seats are now standard, and the 3.5 SL trim level gains more features, including a rearview camera, automatic headlights and dual-zone automatic air conditioning. Competitors include the Dodge Grand Caravan, Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna.
Exterior
The Quest is sold in four variations: 3.5, 3.5 S, 3.5 SL and 3.5 SE. A new color — Lakeshore Slate — is available for 2008, but otherwise not a lot has changed on the outside. It still features a low beltline in front that rises as it moves toward the rear. Strongly defined wheel arches continue to set the Quest apart from the rest of the minivan field.
The 2007 Quest received a number of updates, including a new grille, headlights and chrome accents on items like the door handles. The roof rack was revised and now features a satin, metal-like look. The wheels were also new — both the base 16-inch wheel covers and the 17-inch alloy wheels.
Interior
The Quest has front bucket seats and an optional fixed center console between the driver and front passenger that includes a hidden storage compartment. (Those who don't choose that option get a folding tray table in the same position.)
Both the second- and third-row seats fold for more cargo room, and the third row includes folding head restraints and a spring-assist folding feature. Trim choices include either a faux wood style or a brushed, metal look, and there are chrome bezels around the gauges. Rear skylight windows are optional.
Under the Hood
The front-wheel-drive Quest comes with a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that makes 240 horsepower. A five-speed automatic transmission is standard.
Safety
Antilock brakes, side-impact airbags for the front seats, three-row side curtain airbags, active head restraints for the front seats and traction control are standard. An electronic stability system is optional.
