"We needed to buy a car when my husband took a position in the Bay Area. Primarily we looked for comfort, decent gas mileage & reliability. We shopped several makes and on the recommendation of two different friends decided to buy this one. It is our first Nissan and so far we are very pleased. The ride is just as smooth as our Lexus RX330 and the interior is very comfortable. It has very good turning radius. We purchased this car from Hertz and they met the lowest price we found in this county for the same make & year. They made the purchase easy - no pushy sales pitches."

"MPG isn't great. Getting 21 mpg mixed 50/50 city/hwy. CVT is loud and holds the car back. Takes a second to get power when you press tohe peddle due to the CVT. The HVAC system is the worst part. Very loud, and struggles to keep the car warm even when its ~32F outside. You have to choose between keeping the windshield clear with the defroster or heating the cabin. I've had cold feet all winter. Can't wait to get out of this!"

"One year update, I bought a 2011 Rogue SL AWD last September and to date have over 20,000 miles. So far so good. No complaints. Car has been very reliable and has a very low cost to maintain. Gas mileage is still over 26 mpg combined city and highway. You just can't beat this car."

Many Pros, a few Cons

"This car has an extremely smooth ride and handles well. The gas mileage is as promised. Great finish, inside and out. Excellent GPS system. Very comfortable seats. Minor inconveniences are the complex headlights and windshield wiper systems and a horn that needs great force in order to operate. The only major drawback is the enormous blind spot that makes changing lanes and backing up a challenge. Even the rear camera does not quite compensate when backing out. Otherwise, it's a pleasure to drive. Ask again in 5 years when wear and tear have set in."

"Pros: Love my Rogue, traded in my '08 CR-V for this and I know I made a great decision. Ride is much smoother, less wind noise on the highway, more comfortable interior, & it looks a lot better. I test drove at least 6 other competitor crossovers before I ended up with the Rogue, and I choose it because I believe it's a great value and the most fun to drive. It's the only one of the bunch that liked driving on twisty back roads and has a lot of pep on the highway. The SL package also comes with an excellent Bose sound system which I absolutely love. Lastly, although this winter wasn't that bad, it performed excellently. The CR-V had an accident every time it snowed and always got stuck. Cons: Somewhat noisy CVT on startup (goes away after a few minutes of driving), rear visibility (no problem with SL package: camera works great while parking), a few cheap plastics in the interior (not nearly as much as my CR-V had though), trunk is a bit small compared to the other crossovers I tested, & the steering doesn't feel quite as tight as it did a year ago. Overall review: Great quality crossover without the drawbacks this class usually has. Good ride, comfortable interior, quick, excellent handling, and great looks. Would definitely recommend over the other cars I tested: CR-V, Santa Fe, Forester, & the Rav4. The only other cars I was considering were the Escape & Terrain but the Escape isn't as refined and the Terrain is too expensive (in my opinion of course)."
