"Too bad GM decided to abandon the Pontiac line. This is the most fun I've had driving in years; handling, acceleration, braking, looks, even gets good mileage. I drive a car hard and for long distances, and it's been total excitement. If you can buy one, get it!"

"Hi guys I am here because I just recently traded my G8 GT, even though it is a fun car it is not a great daily driver. The V8 is very thirsty and even though it does have the active fuel management its still not light on gas. In addition to that the car does have a constant flaw being the front suspension... it is garbage, I've had the controls arms changed on each side as well as my right front strut and mount. The car itself is a blast to drive and with some modifications it really opens up the engine. However the constant clicking sound from the front of the car became a nuisance and I was just about to have it worked on again until I was fed up enough to just trade the darn thing, its was being fixed for free but what about when the warranty runs out. General Motors hasn't done anything to improve the design and has pretty much cut the G8 off with Pontiac's demise. I am not trying to dissuade anyone from buying this car if you love fast cars with A LOT of room on the inside go for it, but if you want it as a daily driver be prepared to put up with the rattling, and a lot of fuel consumption. I also wasn't to crazy about the comfort of the seats, they are to racing inspired and the headrest ended up giving me a stiff neck a lot of the times, that is just my personal opinion. Make sure that when you test drive it to turn off the radio and go over some bumps in the road and listen for clicking or rattling sonds coming from the front suspension if ti does then I would be weary about buying the car AND if you do end up buying that specific car make sure the control arms and strut mounts are changed, this is a reoccurring problem with pretty much every G8 driver I've met. You can go onto G8 message boards and there is always some threads about the situation."

"The G8 Gt is worth the money. It a sleeper car. I a american Bmw 535I. Less money. More car. Just does not come with Gps. Other than that. The car Has had no issues at all. Love the car."

"The G8 is a driver's machine. Great balance, handling, braking and all out performance. Muscle car performance with sports car handling and luxury ride. Huge comfortable backseat, enormous trunk. Good mileage (25 mpg highway) for a V8 performance sedan."

"Hi performance and handling, sexy styling inside and out, fairly rare so you're not seeing "your" car every 6th car (like a Charger, Lexus, BMW). Top tier performance, this car can take on all but the very highest performance vehicles (thate are 3-4 times the price and more!) If you can, buy one, you won't regret it."

"The car not many know about and fewer own. I debated getting the manual GXP but I already have another std so it wasnt a big deal to pass on not paying an extra 10k for that + HP option. the GT model I bought was loaded new and I love it over a year later, keeping it pristine and the miles are about all during the nice weather, though I did get caught in a rainstorm with it out once it rides great in wet roads too. If you live in northern climates, I'd never have it in snow to test that capability even though the G8 six-cyl might be adequate I'd doubt the GT or GXP would handle it."

"Great family sedan. Exceptional handling and performance. A Nav system would have been nice, but not all that necessary. Excellent choice instead of an overpriced European import. Similar performance for 1/3 to 1/2 the price. Hoping GM builds more cars like this. No reason GM can't offer small, medium, and large rear wheel drive cars in the Cheve lineup. The gas mileage could be better, but did not buy for the mpg. It does only get about 2 mpg worse on highway than some high output V6 motors. Not too bad."

"While GM killed Pontiac and the G8 can only be found in a few places left, the Pontiac G8 GT is without a doubt the best ever built american family sport car. The brakes could be more responsive and the seat just a tad softer for the thighs on long drives, but overall this car is worth every penny. As a previous owner of SUV's (2003 Suburan, 1999 Cherokee, and 2002 Xterra; I still have the Suburan) and a 2008 Mittsibushi Eclipse, I had a growing family and could not keep the smaller Eclipse. The G8 GT outperformed ever car I have driven and those that I test drove. These included Impallas, Chargers, Avengers, C-Class, 325, and even those not in class like the XC70, V70, RX8, Eclipse, Tiburon, Sky, and a few SUV's. I only wish I had the chance to get an automatic G8 GXP, like they make in Australia. GM, bring it back and market it to the 28 to 40 year old's with family that want an american brand car and the performance while being able to drive the entire family and not spend in excess of $35k. The only other quirk I had was it has an enourmous LCD screen for display, but you can't get the on-star GPS in it. Only turn by turn directions. Seem like a waste and easy port from Cadelic for a major upcharge and proffit to GM as software option."

"The G8 GT has a 6.0 Liter V8 engine that accelerates such that freeway entrances are now adrenaline rushes. The vehicle is fun to drive, I am just apprehensive about where I take it. It draws looks wherever I go."

"It's always a shame when you see something you're fond of fade into memory. That is really how I feel about Pontiac. From the days of grey plastic interiors and body cladded exteriors to solid, reliable, performance cars, Pontiac had come a long way. I've owned the two cars that Pontiac imported from Holden in Australia and they are, without a doubt, two of the finest cars I've been in for the money. I always believed there was a market for Holden cars and with a little more design intrigue, maybe they would have caught on. Maybe the good ol' days of muscle, muscle, and more muscle have passed and we really are living in a world of efficient, 4 and 6 cylinders with direct injection and forced inductioin. If so, then I am proud to own one of the last true muscle cars...a G8 GXP with attitude to burn and nicely wrapped around one of GM's best interiors. The G8 has a tight, European ride, but never lets you forget that it's American...maybe not by birth, but in it's heart and soul. Good-bye Pontiac. You will be missed by a select few that understand what you really stood for. RIP"
